The location was un-beatable. We also enjoyed the house itself. It was rustic and charming - my idea of a mountain house! We also really enjoyed the deck and dining area, with plenty of seating for our group of 10. Host was also helpful and responsive.

Creaky/Leaky Charm. Awesome location to walk to attractions. Needs some fixup. Host communication is inadequate in regards to: A) the host said that the top level apartment has a microwave oven, there is none; and that it has a queen bed, it's a double. So, the total number of queens is one less than described by the website.B)The basement of the property is rented out separately (website does not promote this fact). So, two rental groups share the 6 parking spots. Upon arrival, the basement group occupied one space; but within 24 hours they took 3 spaces resulting in two of our cars being blocked in for two hours (see photo). We had to adjust our itinerary accordingly. After I reached out to the host several times, two parking spaces were authorized on the street. SECURITY.1. The installation and setup of the security app on a mobile device can be challenging.2. The front door was unlocked when we arrived.3. The deck door does not lock. Jenga blocks in the sliding door track secured us at night.MAINTENANCE.We reported drips of water coming from the dining area ceiling. We need a mold and restoration firm to treat the moisture in the dining ceiling, prior to our next visit. The home has the aromas and creaky/leaky charm common to older properties.Deck, common living area, kitchen, baths met the needs of our extended family nicely. The checkout process was one of the simplest we have experienced. We enjoyed the gardens, cave, falls, shops, lakes for 3 days!

Perfect location to walk back and forth from town, and a great space for a big group! Only issue was the creaky floors and doors, you can hear when anyone moves.

Charming Home for Get-Together with Extended Family

Beautiful and large historic home tastefully decorated and amazingly spacious with lots of bedrooms, bathrooms & gathering spaces making for such a wonderful place for our extended family to gather!! Not only was there a large living room, dining room, and kitchen area, but also a tv room, a games room, and two sitting areas on the upper floors as well so everyone could be together or have separate spaces as they pleased. The only thing to be careful about is that your ability to lock the door when you checkout expires at exactly noon. We were literally trying to lock the door at 12:03 and our app indicated our access to the lock had expired and there was no way to lock the front door from the outside other than by using the app. I would highly recommend that the management co figure out something better for this as we spent considerable time trying to contact them and waiting to ensure they had someone coming right away so we could leave without the door being locked. When we did not hear back the VRBO help desk contacted them and then we got a response so having VRBO to help was an added bonus. Other than this snag we thought this place was so incredible and had some wonderful times here we will always cherish!!

Perfect Homebase

What a PERFECT spot for a large group! Great spaces for everyone and the perfect location to walk to everything - shops, grocery store, transit, etc. It was also way more cost effective than booking individual hotel rooms and we saved additionally by shopping at the IGA and eating meals in. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely not hesitate to book here again.

Great house!

9 of us from our family stayed here and everyone got a different room if they wanted it. Great spaces and had everything we needed! Walked to the grocery store and all around town. Perfect for our 3 generation group!

Great location and beautiful home for a large group- walking distance to downtown

The home is perfect for a family trip or getaway with a group of friends. The main floor is a great common area, and the 2nd floor has 6 bedrooms. The 3rd floor has a large living area, one bedroom, and a bathroom. It was clean and well decorated and equipped with all we needed! Would definitely stay again!

3 blocks from downtown Banff. Easy communication and very flexible with a few changes that we needed. Decor is a bit dated, but in good shape and comfortable

Great location but not a great value

The location of this property was fantastic. Easy walk to town and trail head. The property was lacking amenities that you would expect for the price such as cable tv, worn out bath towels and toilet paper. It was not very clean. Many of the kitchen pots/pans were dirty and the garbage can was filthy. The home was quite dark-some additional lighting updates such as lamps could help this. They advertise a game closet but it only had one complete game. The rest was missing pieces or empty boxes. Also, when we were staying there the maintenance man was using power tools such as electric saws. I had to contact the owner to find out what was going on and was told he was working in the basement. I find this unacceptable during a rental period.

A vacation to remember

My family and I enjoyed this mini get away in Banff. The house is so gorgeous! Not to mention that the location was perfect, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We enjoyed breathtaking views, and it was just a short walk from local attractions and restaurants! I also appreciate how easy it was to communicate with Sandy and his team checking in and out was easy. I would gladly recommend this place.

Amazing Place!

The booking process was a breeze. VRBO's user-friendly platform made it easy to find the perfect property. The place is perfect! Clean, well-maintained, and beautifully furnished, it felt like a home away from home. The pictures on the listing were accurate, but in person, it was even more charming. The property owner clearly took pride in maintaining their rental. Everything was in excellent condition, and we had all the necessary essentials to make our stay comfortable.The location was perfect, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I would definitely recommend everyone to book this place!

Perfect house for a group in Banff

Charming historical home centrally located in downtown Banff. Seven bedrooms as advertised and massive kitchen, living, playing/hanging out space for everyone. Kids and grownups enjoyed the the game rooms, such a plus for a family vacation. We would love to return for our next Banff reunion.

Incredibly Troubling Stay !! Beware !!

Im writing this to express my extreme frustration, disappointment, and concern regarding a 2-night stay at this rental in Banff. The accommodations were supposed to provide a 3-floor, 7-bedroom home to accommodate my family of 9 (including two children). Air Conditioning was specifically listed in the description of the property, and it was essential for several of the family members. Our party arrived to find the house with an extremely hot and humid temperature (Banff was listed with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius that day). I immediately contacted the VRBO host, and she confirmed that there was Air Conditioning for the whole home. When I replied and stated that this was not the case, she clarified that there was only actually Air Conditioning in only one unit on the top floor and that she was sorry, but that the temperature was planning to drop down that evening so if the windows were left open, the property might cool down. I replied that this was not satisfactory. I was forced to book another apartment nearby at a high cost, due to the health concern that this posed to members of my family, and we left the unit within 2 hours of arriving. She later replied back and said a refund was not possible, even though the listing clearly states that Air Conditioning was a property feature. This ordeal caused great stress to myself and my family members and effectively ruined the end of our long-planned trip. I am hopeful that this will raise awareness of this issue.

Location of the house was fabulous and made the trip so much more enjoyable because we could walk to town. This was well worth it given the parking and congested driving situation in Banff. The house easily accommodated our 14 people and was very comfortable sleeping. The check in and communication was excellent. The only thing that could improve is to be more clear about the fact that other renters are also on the property. Although this was no issue at all as there is plenty of parking and separate entrances, but it was confusing as to how it would work until we got there and saw it. Better communication on the website would be helpful. And finally, the deck and doors off of the deck need some work and improvement. The views are too nice to have the deck look as it does. My recommendation would be to make it much more inviting. Overall, had an amazing stay and loved it!!
