Wonderful location

This property was perfectly located and surprisingly quiet despite it’s central location. The apartment had everything we needed and extremely clean. My entire family of 4 (2 teenagers) enjoyed everything about this apartment and would return for future Barcelona visits.

Not as it appears

This unit looks good in the photos but a few important things to note: while Barcelona (and the Gothic Quarter) presents lots of graffiti and one would not necessarily relate that to a sketchy neighborhood, renter beware here. We arrived at 9:30PM and by the time we were able to park our rental car in a lot nearby, it was after 10PM. The lots attendant kindly walked us to the unit suggesting we remove our jewelry and not leave the unit after 11PM with the kids (13 & 16). The management company representative said this was not accurate and we would be fine if we went to the right (not the left) out the main door. The stairs to the unit are many (which is fine) but they are very narrow and it’s hard to get your luggage up them. The unit has lots of peeling paint, almost no natural light and the hot water only lasts for part of one shower, then goes cold for an hour and a half. We asked the management company to move us and they said they would find us another apartment but would charge us for both. After I took photos of the black mold throughout the unit, they moved us to a lovely apartment (for no additional charge). We lost 1 of our 4 days in Barcelona, but the new apartment made our visit to this beautiful city worthwhile. However, I do not recommend this unit I originally booked.

Excellent stay. Great location, clean, quiet. Perfect!

I cannot believe we found this place for the price we paid! Truly a steal! We were greeted by our friendly host on time and there was a basket with wine, chips, biscotti, etc waiting for us. The hostess spent time going over things with us and helped us plan out a couple of things to do. She helped us get discounted tickets to an excellent flamenco show. The apartment was beautiful, safe, and in the heart of the gothic district. We walked almost everywhere (beach, Los Rambles, some Gaudi houses, etc.), and caught the metro literally two minutes from the apartment to go to Parc Guell. The location could not have been better! The apartment has quiet hours so we, as a family, found that nice. The apartment was beautifully decorated and had air conditioning, which was wonderful! We found relatively inexpensive parking in a lot nearby - literally right around the block. For three nights parking was $54 euros. I will stay here again next time I return to Barcelona!
