“Outstanding staff and management - all of them were very friendly, helpful and professional. Lovely location. Breakfasts were good, coffee and hot chocolate were delicious. We had lunch at the onsite restaurant one day and it was very good as well. Chalet was cute and spacious enough. Walkways lined with flowers. Activity room included a pool table, which we made good use of on the rainy afternoon. Shower temp eventually made it to lukewarm, which was adequate for a quick shower - would have……

“This lodging is a hidden gem away from Poas but close enough to get to the crater within 20 minutes. The views from the dining area were spectacular. The owner, Cindy, communicated clearly and often. She provided excellent directions to the property which is located high up on a hill in a residential area. The bedding was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend Serenity Ecolodge for a stay near Poas Volcano. I have nothing but good things to say about the……

“Staff met you at the front, Spanish-speaking only but super nice. The room was fantastic when we stayed. It was a little bit colder so there was a space heater. There’s a menu in the room for options for meals. We didn’t partake in any of this, but it was great to know that we had a food available if needed. The only downside was the lack of hot water in the shower. We only stayed for one night so it really didn’t bother us that much but if we were saying multiple nights that would’ve been an……

“Lovely, ample eco-friendly rooms in a tranquil setting. Large garden dips down into the forest. The staff (all family) are helpful and kind. Plan on 10-15 minutes on a tight curvy road to get to restaurants but the hotel location is worth it.”

“I can’t recommend enough! We stayed in San Jose the night before our flight, after spending the week in Fortuna we weren’t sure what to expect. We booked a cheap stay, and it was fantastic! It was clean, safe, and comfortable! It’s inside a locked gate, with a safe place to park. It’s walking distance to plenty of food and shops. I can’t recommend enough! ”
