Comfy cottage, good location

We were a party of 5 so this cottage was exactly the right size for us. The cottage is light and airy, the living area upstairs is especially nice with a lovely view and enough comfy seating for everyone. Kitchen is well equipped. Beds were all very comfy. My teenage daughter loved the high bed in the single bedroom. It's quite a walk into town but we didn't mind...buses are frequent. The garden, although nice to have, felt a little bit neglected. Morrison's supermarket very close and very useful for supplies. Jon was kind enough to let us know that there wasn't a booking before us so we got in to the cottage early which was really helpful. All in all a really comfy, pleasant stay.

Little gem!

We stayed in Mews Cottage as a short family getaway with my parents. Everything was lovely. The house is warm, comfortable with clean beds, a well-stocked kitchen, and a good shower. The house has very nice views of Bath and is an easy distance to town center. My parents are older so they appreciated the fact that they could come home to a warm comfortable house after a day of sightseeing in the cold weather. Thank you Jon!

Lovely view of Bath from this mews cottage

Very pretty view, convenient for the city. There was everything we needed in this characterful mews cottage. There is off street parking for one car but the parking on the rest of the street is very tight so don't rely on a second space nearby. Morrisons is very close for supplies and there was lots of choice to eat close by. We ate at the Clifton Sausage restaurant, the Raven pub in the city but the highlight, was afternoon tea at the Royal Crescent Hotel - pricey but excellent quality for that special treat. We have been to Bath before but we had never been to the Holburne Museum and Sydney Gardens behind it and they were excellent including the cafe. We also enjoyed Victoria Park which had the Steam Fair the week we went and Toppings Bookseller which is a really great independent bookstore not too far from the house. Some of the furnishings and decoration do need a little tlc which is why we have not rated the cottage 5 but it did not stop us having a really good time at the cottage and if you want somewhere to stay right in Bath then we definitely recommend it.

A room with a view in beautiful Bath

Wonderful property with plenty of room for our family of four to spread out and lounge. Everything was clean and comfortable, and that view of Bath from the hillside is fabulous. Landlord Jon was patient and helpful throughout in our messages. Perfect way to start our Great Britain trip!

Charming, character mews house. Wonderful views and a short walk to city centre.

I liked the quirkiness of the property, the layout of it may not work for everyone but it suited me and my 2 friends. We were within easy walking distance of everywhere we wanted to visit including the Roman Baths. We ate all our meals out except for breakfast but the kitchen is well equipped and the dining area had ample space. When at home we spent most of our time sitting in the lounge with the window open looking at the view.......much better than any TV show. We didn't use the garden as it is off of the downstairs double bedroom. This was my room though and it was lovely to have the door open on the warm nights and early in the morning. Jon provided excellent directions and all the information we needed plus some reccomendations of where to eat and visit. All the beds were comfortable with quality bedding and plenty of towels provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would definitely stay here again.

Nice appartment in a busy town

Appartment is like on the pictures located in a very hilly area. It's better to leave the car at the house when going to the town (very busy traffic).

Great for our short stay in Bath

The apartment is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Our family of 5 stayed here for 2 nights and were able to walk everywhere easily. There is a grocery store nearby. The parking was easy on the street in front of the apartment, we did not try to go in the space provided, it looked too steep. Great place to book for your time in Bath.

Character and comfort

Very much enjoyed our short stay. Walk into town was fine and convenient supermarket closer. Jon was very accommodating about bag pick up. Brilliant everything-you-need-to-know doc sent in advance. Very organised!

Wonderful place

Our family of 5 enjoyed the Mews, it was very nicely decorated and kitchen fully equipped. Beds were comfortable and the view great! One bathroom required some logistics but it worked with parents, 2 teenage boys and me the grandmother! Nice walk to the center of bath but it is quite hilly coming back so a taxi maybe a good idea if no car. Jon left lots of places to eat and good directions to all. Supermarket is a five minute walk downhill. Would definitely recommend it and would stay again on my next trip.

Bath City Break

Lovely town house within walking distance of the city centre. Comfortable and clean with the amenities you would expect. My car was to big for the bay but there was always space on the road outside. Good base for the Somerset area as well as walks into Bath. Very nice place.

Good location for sightseeing Bath and Christmas shopping

The mews house is well located for central Bath and provides comfortable accomodation for up to 5 people. It is positioned at the top of a steep hill, so if you are planning to walk to and from the centre, be prepared for the return climb (low or flat shoes advised!). There is off road parking for one car but the driveway is very steep and we scraped the bottom of the car whilst manoevering! There is street parking available but you may have to walk a little way. The views from the property, over the valley and the garden at the rear are great and it would be a lovely spot in the Summer. As we were 5 adults, the only downside was that there is only one bathroom/toilet. We really enjoyed our weekend stay and would recommend Bath for a short break as it has sightseeing, shopping, good night-life and a great variety of places to eat.

Mews Cottage

We spent a lovely few days in Mews Cottage at half term. Our expectations were exceeded: the photos do not do the cottage justice as the accomodation is roomer than it looks on the website. The views are lovely and the street is quiet. The kitchen is well equipped and, phew, there is a great dishwasher! Everything was lovely and clean and we were delighted with the cottage! We did walk into town once, but with three kids in tow we found the buses from the London Road (Snow Hill stop or just outside Morrisons) very convenient and kids travelled free at half term! It is worth getting a family ticket on the buses as this si good value if you are planning more than two bus rides in the day. Of course we visited the Baths, but also No1 Royal Crescent, which was fun with lots of children's activities. Victoria Park was great, and the children's playground is a must. We walked there, but there are buses to it along the main road. We would definitely recommend Mews Cottage: lovely accomodation, good location and great service and advice from Jon!

Great property; short walk from sights

We were very impressed with this property having stayed in various properties in Bath, the rooms are a good size and the living area is very comfortable with great views. The walk into the town was not too taxing, just save some energy for the uphill on the way home! Booking and communications were really easy and information provided was of a high standard. Thanks Jon!

Nice find

Mews cottage is a nice find in a nice location. Easy walking distance to shopping and even Bath Center. Steep climb back up but good exercise. Sleeping 5 would be a little tight especially in view of 1 bathroom and no separate toilet facility. Kitchen is well appointed with all needed for in-house cooking. Great views. Garden is small but would have been nice to enjoy if we had the time. Central heating a little tricky. Some of the radiators could not be turned off individually. Also one window, street side could not be opened. Maybe deliberate. Jon is very responsive to any communication. A little pricey at GBP225/day (including cleaning). But not many places would take bookings for only 2 nights. Overall would stay here again.
