The rental was exactly as described, with plenty of room for the 5 of us! We had the best time! The VRC staff were incredibly good communicators and such a great help with just 2 minor questions. This property is very warm and inviting. Well stocked with all the amenities. The views and location are second to none. Cant wait to come again, but would have loved to bring the fur babies.

Peaceful lake cabin with an amazing outdoor deck with propane firepit & stunning lake views. Home was well equipped & great for all ages. Lovely stay for the week! Thank you for sharing this home with us.

Great view

We loved the view and the quiet location. The road up to the house was a little crazy. Appreciated the game room and books for our grandson. The house was very clean! The porches and game room could have used a little attention.

Beautiful, Just as listed

We so enjoyed our stay. When we return this will be the place we will look to see if it is available. Comfortable beds, Spacious common areas. Gorgeous lake views. we had Deer and turkey come by in the morning. The house was very clean, and necessities were there.

The views of the lake and the forest were beautiful, we loved the fire table, and enjoyed our meals at the dining table on the deck. The kitchen was well equipped, and things worked well. The surroundings were very quiet and the beds were comfortable so we all slept good.

Family Get Away

This home was the perfect accommodations for our family. Plenty of room, very clean and the views were absolutely amazing! This was the first trip we have been able to take together since our kids became adults. It really gave us a chance to lounge in a comfortable environment to catch up and reconnect. We also had a little family fun competing in ping pong :-) I highly recommend this location!

Perfect home! Beautiful view!

The house was perfect! Very clean, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen! Large covered back porch that has comfortable furniture, one could easily take a nap out there. It’s not directly on the lake but has a wonderful view! Thirty minutes from Durango with plenty of options of things to do for the whole family! Would definitely return!

Relaxing Getaway

We loved this house. The outdoor patio and the way it stayed shaded all day made for a relaxing place to sit and relax while our kids played in the yard. Weather was cool in the mornings and evenings and even without AC we were able to keep things comfortable even during hot weather. The lake was beautiful, Vallecito Creek Trail was our favorite, and we enjoyed day trips into Durango.

Look just as advertised might be nice to have upstairs bathroom. The only negative was the patio area was extremely dusty. We had to wipe everything down before we could enjoy the amazing view.

Spring Break Snow

Our family of five had a cozy and comfortable experience at Lake Vallencito. The house had everything we needed and our children enjoyed the ping pong, darts and foosball. The scenic ride to Durango was about 30 minutes and the private road to get to the property is steep but can be made in two wheel drive. Our kids really enjoyed playing in the abundant snow. The only down fall we experienced was the unreliable wifi connection, but the views from the back porch made up for it. Our family had a great vacation at the snowy destination.

Peaceful Place with a Lake View

Our family spent most of the time on the porch, having family meals and reading by the fire pit. Cool breeze, some drizzles during the day, deers passing by, so quiet and friendly neighborhood. As a bonus, our class B RV can drive up and down the mountain, parking is flat and spacious. Definitely would book again.

Incredible views from the big back deck as we grilled out. The Lake was so beautiful and peaceful. Very clean and comfy home. We went snowmobiling, hot springs, and shopping. We also enjoyed the local Weminuche Grill for appetizers and dinner only 10 minutes away. The kids had fun playing ping pong and foosball in the game room. We will definitely be back!

Comfortable, lovely lake view home.

We booked this home last minute after our other reservation was cancelled on us. I had to make a really fast decision on booking this one, and it turned out great! This home was perfect for my family of 4 plus my parents, so 6 people total. The kitchen was updated and well stocked. The dining table and living room was big enough for all of us to relax and enjoy. The large covered patio was so lovely to have; furniture made a perfect early morning coffee spot to sit in the silence and watch the deer that call the back yard home. In addition, there is an upper deck off the upstairs that is perfect for night time star viewing! This house is close to the lake and marina, where you can fish and rent fishing boats and kayaks. There are a couple of small grocery stores at the lake and a restaurant on the north end of the lake where we had dinner one night. About 35-40 minutes from Durango, which is a fun mountain town with a lot to do and great restaurants and down town shopping district. The property manager was very responsive to questions and issues. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful weekend getaway!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband, our son and I stayed here with another couple and their son for our annual anniversary trip that we do together. The house is so cute and fit our needs perfectly. It is situated above the lake, not on the lake, which can be hard to tell by the pictures, but the view is amazing! We enjoyed our nights on the back patio with the propane firepit. The house was clean and we appreciated the extra things available like coffee pods, baggies and batteries. There were some spider webs and a few spiders here and there but it didn't ruin our stay. The garage kind of smells like a litter box, which is strange (we assume it was from the trash), but again didn't ruin our stay as we didn't spend much time in there. Only about a 40 drive to downtown Durango we were able to explore the mountains of Colorado that this house is nestled in and still spend a day in Durango. The local stores are cute and have necessities if you forgot anything. Go to the General Store (the first one you pass on the right going to the stores) over the Market. The Market is very expensive where the General Store is priced as I would expect. Also note that the stores close at 7 most days! I would definitely stay at this rental again!
