“I was pleasantly surprised by everything at the Golden club hotel. I'd been slightly worried by some reviews before we arrived but i can honestly say our stay in August was excellent. It's a great 3 star hotel. All the staff were brilliant, my children went to kids club on our last 2 days and loved it, huge thanks to Junior, Andre, Pedro and Vinny, especially Junior who took my daughter under his wing and Pedro who entertained my son. “O hotel é extremamente bem localizado, inserido no centro histórico da cidade. Alias, as instalações do próprio hotel fazem parte do roteiro turístico, uma vez que seu prédio era originalmente um convento. A aura do local é maravilhosa, ao imaginarmos tudo o que já presenciou. Infelizmente o pátio central estava em reforma (fato que deveriam mencionar na reserva), comprometendo o visual com andaimes. “There's a welcome drink at check in, which is a nice touch. Decent size room with a good size south facing balcony (worth the extra cost). Spacious and clean bathroom. Pool clean but totally very warm in October, despite the sunny weather. Plenty of sun loungers available. Pool access is through the gym though which is rather strange, or via reception on the floor above. The indoor pool is very small, short and narrow, ok to lounge about in, but you can't really swim.
