“I booked a short stay, spur of the moment, and Peter was very kind and accommodating. He made the whole process extremely easy. The cottage is great! It sits right on Lower Herring Lake, so I had terrific views and complete lake access. The cabin is nicely appointed and has a spacious living room, and a very comfortable, cozy bedroom. The kitchen contains everything you need for your stay and the washer and dryer on the back indoor porch is an added bonus. I will be back!”

“Property was the perfect home base to explore Michigan. Less than 20 minutes from Sleeping Bears Dunes and less than 5 miles from beach front at Lake Michigan, it allowed us time to explore instead of wasting time driving. Teenage sons enjoyed the lake and boats provided with the rental. Cabin was clean and spacious for our family of 4. We’d stay again! ”

“We liked the cleanliness of the home and the secluded setting that was still close to Frankfort and surrounding towns and water.Emily was very responsive and helpful. There is a binder that gives all the information you need. Two of the bedrooms have air conditioning but the third smaller one didn't. Luckily, we only had two couples so we didn't need it. The rest of the house was quite warm this weekend and even with trying to move the air with the fans provided, didn't cool it down much. The……

“At Red Shutters you fall asleep in front of a roaring fire and wake to deer grazing in the yard. The accommodations are clean, the bed comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with cooking gear and dried spices. The propane stove in the main room was nice when the weather turned colder. It’s lovely to be surrounded by dense woods and just 3 blocks from Lake Michigan and Crystal Lake. A wonderful retreat. ”

“This property and facilities was perfect for our group of five people. Access to the beach was a real plus. The cabin was well maintained, clean, comfortable and had all the space we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and we were plesantly supprised to see how well it was supplied. We definately plan to book this cabin again. Our host was excellent and stayed in touch with us to make sure our stay was great.”

“This was a magical place to stay. The river is so peaceful I enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the water. My kids loved playing in the river. You feel very secluded. I hope to come back in the future to enjoy another week here.”
