This hotel is only 5 minutes walking distance from the huge shopping building Kadewe, the main metro/train station. It's on one of the main street of Berlin so it's safe for late nights. The room is clean. There's coffee and tea with an electronic kettle available in the room.

This upscale property gets everything right…well trained, friendly staff, comfortable, well-maintained rooms, and a great location! If there is one thing they could work on it would be to upgrade the WiFi speed! I highly recommend the RIU Plaza if you are staying on the western side of Berlin!

Nice hotel and nice room but strange that there is no doors to the bathroom in a family hotel. If you take a shower you are not able to close a door, why? And the staff at the breakfast must get paid depending on the amount of plates they pick. The most stressful breakfast I've had, trying to hold on to my plate. But overall a nice hotel. Modern and stylish rooms.

We had a very nice stay - all personnel were fantastic - the room was nice (slippery floor in shower). Free parking Breakfast was 8 on a 1-10 scale.

We booked a junior suite at Riu Plaza. Initially, we were assigned room 406, which was disappointing: dull view, dirty window panes, tiles sticking out in the bedroom, and most importantly, the air conditioning didn’t work properly. It was far too warm for us to sleep comfortably. We asked the receptionist to have the AC checked while we went out for dinner. Unfortunately, when we returned, nothing had been done, and the receptionist even took it upon himself to judge that the room temperature was ‘fine’ for sleeping — which we found quite inappropriate. It’s a shame that we had to argue strongly to be moved to another room (206), which was much better and in the same category. On the positive side, breakfast was very good and the location is convenient for restaurants and public transport. Overall, our stay was just OK — but we were disappointed by the poor level of service, especially for a suite in a 4-star hotel.”

The property and accommodations were great but I cannot say the same for the staff. Front desk should warn guests that cleaning staff will let themselves into your occupied room way before check out even approaches. Starting at 8 am a male staff let himself into our room before we could even respond to his aggressive knocks on our door. We were all still in bed. The second time was at 10 am when my mother was in the room alone in bed and that same male did the same and let himself in again. He did the same again at 11 am. Upon checking out I notified the front desk who merely said they’d talk to the cleaning staff about it.
