Beach Vacation

Fine - But outdated.

This two-bedroom unit is fine, but it’s frustrating that the owners put little effort into keeping them somewhat up-to-date. It doesn’t need to be fancy or high-end, but it would have been nice if the kitchen and bathrooms were not from the 1980s.

Great location!

204 Brandywine was a great beach escape for our little family. It is close to the ocean as well as the many community pools. Parking was close and convenient and it had everything we needed with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Living room/dining room was spacious for a 2br/2bath, could easily sit 8 people around the table. No beach view, but that didn’t matter to us when we were so close we could just walk to see the ocean. Had a great stay!

Lovely unit - clean and well stocked kitchen

After reading earlier reviews I am happy to say that the unit was clean and well stocked with kitchen essentials. There was plenty of room for our group of 5. The queen beds are bad so beware if you have a bad back. That and an electronic lock would be my only recommendation for improvement. Two of the beds did not have sheets when we arrived - we called vacasa and they were there within minutes. We have found that whenever there is a unit problem, vacasa is very responsive - so don’t be afraid to contact them if there is an issue. Sea colony is a great family resort and we look forward to staying here again!

Great Vacation Spot - Sea Colony - 204 Brandywine House

We have been vacationing in Bethany Beach for many years. This is the first time we have ever stayed at Sea Colony. It was a very positive experience. The whole trip went smoothly. The only drawback is that our vacation was too short!

Adequate, but far from a dream home

All told, we had a good stay here. The apartment itself is fine -- the living room and dining room are nicely furnished and have lots of room for everyone to be together. The beds aren't great, and the mattresses are very old/saggy. The kitchen has plenty of plates/cups/silverware/etc., and some limited cooking dishes. Be aware that there is pretty much zilch when it comes to anything consumable -- no paper towels, almost no spices/cooking oil, no dish soap, 2 dishwasher pods and laundry pods, 1.5 rolls of of toilet paper, one tiny travel size shampoo and miniature bar of soap for the bathrooms, etc.--pack accordingly! There are plenty of bath towels, but no pool/beach towels. As for cleanliness, I'd give it about 2 stars. I wiped literal handfuls of dust that were hanging off the sides of the ceiling fan blades because I was worried they would rain down on us if someone turned it on. I also cleaned gobs of dust off the air return because my toddler was trying to finger paint with it. The master closet had a laundry bin full of (presumably unwashed) wadded up sheets and unfolded blankets. The property itself is nice -- we were there in mid September, and while we realized that was after the high season, we did not realize that almost all of the pools would be closed. If you're not coming in summer, read carefully to understand what amenities will actually be available! The beach itself is beautiful. Very clean, tons of space, lots of little playgrounds directly on the beach. The surf was too rough for swimming when we were there, but we had a great time hanging out on the beach nevertheless.

Brandywine

A great way to vacation. Loved being right next to beach and access to all the pools. Was a little disappointed that there weren’t any gas grills. (We did find a charcoal one. ) Also the stairs and elevators were a bit rough. Badly needed paint and updating. But overall a great getaway. Thank you

The pool was very nice. The convenience of having restaurants close by was very nice. However the room was very small especially the kitchen and bathrooms. The shower stall was exceptionally small and left very dirty. The glass on the sliding doors did not look cleaned at all.
