“Mallard House was perfect for a little family getaway.. It’s been updated recently and was super clean. Best part of the weekend was relaxing and watching the water through the wall of windows in the sunroom with morning coffee. Kitchen is stocked with the basics and the owners were kind enough to leave some microwave popcorn. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were stocked with soap. Shampoo & conditioner. Their regular coffee maker had recently broken but there is a kuerig. Plenty of games &……

“The property was top notch. The pictures don’t do it justice. We had 8 adults who slept in the property and 2 that stayed in an RV with their teenagers in the circle drive. There was plenty of room for our other 4 cars in the driveway, and my sister and her family could have stayed in the house with us but they were traveling through and decided to just stay in their RV. There was so much to do for everyone! We enjoyed the outside games by the grill and Blackstone while watching football……

“Secluded and quiet but close enough to get to either Shreveport or Ruston. We rode up Hwy 519 to check Lake Claiborne and Homer. Then back down to Minden. Very scenic.”

“Breakfast was a disaster. One coffee machine broken. Staff couldn't keep the coffee pump container filled, ran out of half and half. Ham was so tough you could barely hack through it. ”

“This property was probablu one of the oldest (if not the oldest) or the moat out of date property I've ever stayed at. The furniture in the rooms looked very aged and the lamps and other items showed rust and other out dated items. Everything was dusty, smelled old and just awful. The beds were suppose to be Queen sized beds and they were TINY!!! This was thee most disappointing stay ever.”
