「Staying on a houseboat was a really neat experience! We reserved the "family houseboat" and it was more spacious than I thought it was going to be, especially the bathroom (which was very important, since four people were sharing it). I recommend motion sickness remedies if that is an issue for you. Though the houseboats are on a rather calm cove, being on water affected both my daughter and I at times; we wore those anti-seasick bracelets. 「The cabin was unique and perfect for someone who isn't planning to spend a long time inside on a vacation to the Keys. We traveled with a 5 year old and a 2 year old and they were able to sleep comfortably in the bunk beds. They LOVED seeing Blaze the local dog every day. They couldn't wait to see him and pet him when they woke up each day. We were able to use the kayaks to explore the bay and even saw two eagle rays feeding in the currrent. 「I would give 10 stars if possible! We are a family of 6 and had an amazing stay for a week. Starting with things I read other negative reviews about and worried about: Septic- yes. Sometimes you get the faint smell of a septic system. This is absolutely no different than camping, RV'ing or boating. It is not the smell of waste, its just the normal smell of the tank. 「Great views, clean and comfortable. Especially liked the elevator. Only downside was the stovetop was difficult to control. It was either barely on or full blastThe property manager was awesome. One of the a/c units was having trouble keeping up. So he came by and put in a temporary unit that solved the issue」
