  • If you want to escape the city, why pick a house in side-by-side suburbia? Seasons of stunning surroundings await you! Come see our wildflower meadows bursting with a rainbow of color in the late spring and summer, aspen groves painted in gold, yellow and red in the fall, and trails through the woods blanketed in white for you to snowshoe in the winter. All these photos are ON THE RANCH, not "nearby" like so many listings post. Take a lovely walk on one of our several trails right out the back door.

    Location:
    Just 3 miles up the hill from Black Hawk (casinos, fine dining!), it is consistently a 75 minute drive from DIA. It is 2.5 miles to Black Hawk's brand new Hidden Treasure mountain bike trailhead, and of course all of the Indian Peaks Wilderness trailheads are just minutes north on the Peak to Peak Highway. Interstate 70 is 20 minutes to the south. The closest 2 ski areas are Loveland to the south and Eldora to the north. Rocky Mountain National Park is a 40 mile trip north up the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway, a spectacular drive.

    The Talley House:
    The house is the 50-year-old original home on the ranch. It has 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs, a bedroom with a brand new bathroom downstairs, along with spacious living, dining room and den areas. The kitchen has new appliances. It is surrounded on three sides with large outdoor deck areas.

    The house is next to the barn, the green house, and the caretaker's house, so you will see the owners and the caretaker, with our many dogs working in the barn and around the property while you are here. We are busy making and marking trails, building fences, taking care of the constant fire-mitigation work, and restoring this 50-year-old house, barn and ranch that we have been blessed with.

Our host Kristen is wonderful. The ranch being a larger acreage has a feel of isolation. The views are great and the home has a comfortable feel with a great table for playing games.

This was the perfect spot to enjoy the end of Fall between some work and play in the Denver area. Very clean, great bathroom downstairs, and very spacious. Really enjoyed walking the peaceful property and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

Great Girls Trip Getaway!!

We had an amazing stay at Quartz Point Ranch. Host was amazing and answered any questions we had quickly! Views were beautiful from the home, and we even got to see and mother and baby moose on the road to the house.

It is as described, lovely outside of Blackhawk. The view is gorgeous. The rooms were spacious. The host were available if needed. I definitely would stay here again.

Awesome property, great hosts

We had a great week-long stay at Quartz Point Ranch! The house was quite large and comfortable, and had everything we needed to cook a big Thanksgiving meal. We really enjoyed exploring the property as well. Kris, Mike and Brandi were all so welcoming and we felt at home. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Perfect retreat

We stayed at the Quartz Point Ranch to celebrate my husband's birthday, and the property made for the perfect retreat. The views are stunning, the property had lots of area to explore, and the home was stocked with everthing we needed (and then some). There were numerous thoughtful touches that truly made this feel like our home away from home. The caretaker and owners were very kind, and communication was excellent. We would love to stay again.

Wonderful Mountain Getaway

I loved my stay here. I brought my 2 dogs and we would walk the property each morning and evening enjoying the quiet and wildlife (rabbits, chipmunks, moose, BEAR!). The house was roomy and the owners have obviously put a lot of love into all the details. It is close to some great hiking areas and cool CO towns like Nederland. Been gone a day and already want to go back!

Very spacious! Lots of room for our family of six adults plus a dog. Warm and inviting. Hot tub didn’t work but we had everything we needed to make our meals. Saw moose on the deck moments after we arrived. Would stay here again!

4th of July Family vacation

My Family and I LOVED our stay in Black Hawk CO at Quartz Point Ranch!! Brandie, Kristen and Michael were very friendly and made us feel at home!! We also feel in love with Penny and Bow (hopefully spelled correctly)!! We learned alot about the land,wild life and people of CO. We will definately be back!!

Wonderful Mountain Home

We stayed just over a week at QPR and enjoyed it. It was a little scenic slice of Colorado. Kris and Michael were wonderful hosts. The house was perfect size and a place we could really unplug to escape. It had most everything one would need. The bed was quite comfortable and fitted with flannel sheets to keep you warm during the cool mountain nights. I have already recommended it to a friend, and would recommend it to you, too.

Beautiful Home and Location!

This is a wonderfully updated home with incredible views and plenty of great amenities. The house is well stocked and has tons of space. Kris was super easy to reach helped out with any questions I had. The house is fairly secluded and surrounded by lots of beautiful open space and amazing views. This is nice and close to Black Hawk and Central City, the Maryland Mountain trail system, and tons of activities. I can't wait to come back in summer and see this beautiful place in a new way!

Amazing Property!

Great place to stay with a group! We booked this property for a family Christmas and had such a wonderful stay! Kristen was so welcoming, and even emailed ahead of time to see if we celebrated Christmas. When we arrived, she had a fresh-cut tree from the property , lights and ornaments ready for us! So incredibly thoughtful! We have stayed in many rental properties over the years, but none with this much property, we loved the private hiking trails! Also was a great place to stay with our multi-generational family and our dogs. There were multiple communal spaces and an open floor plan. Great views and well appointed. We look forward to coming back, and would highly recommend this home!
