“Excellent place to stay with the wonderful garden and hospitality. A walk from Boot & Shoe after dinner back to house in a total darkness is quite an experience.”

“First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive. The location was serene and relaxing with incredible 360-degree views of mountains and pastures! Inside, there were several cozy areas to relax and unwind. I would also recommend booking a dinner reservation for fine dining as……

“The 3 course meal was al a carte status, excellent made by chef/ owner. Lovely bedrooms and v clean and owners very welcoming. Lovely views and walks nearby. For children the wildlife park is worth a visit nearby. ”

“Very quiet, cozy & comfortable Inn. Although located in a remote area of Lake District, easy to find & can reach other spots easily. Must try the dinner at the restaurant which is very good with reasonable price. Only the towel rack in my room is not working which is a minor stuff. Furthermore everything in the breakfast seems overcooked.”

“Clean and quiet. The staff are helpful. Fully equipped kitchen and dry room for wet clothes. But the air quality inside the eight people dormitory room is poor because the window is small. ”

It is no wonder that it is. 4 in a bed winner ( for those who don’t know it’s a uk TV programme where 4 guest house owners compete against for best guest house etc ) We didn’t know this when we booked ! “It’s a premier inn Self check in seemed ok a bit impersonal On arrival we were early and no power in hotel but all good we returned later It’s on a courtyard shared with sainsbury Penrith itself isn’t very inviting but the hotel is ok”
