“The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night, and it was clean and comfortable (and the view of the hills was lovely). There was a large fan provided, which was very welcome given the heatwave that was taking place that week, We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. A perfect place for an overnight in the Lakes.”

“First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive. The location was serene and relaxing with incredible 360-degree views of mountains and pastures! Inside, there were several cozy areas to relax and unwind. “We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed.”

“Great little guest house with stunning views. Of Ullswater. We used the guest house as visiting the Inn on the Lake which is literally just across the road. Spotless room and super friendly staff 👍”

“Great staff, great location and gardens. Stains on carpets in several areas, breakfast buffet disappointing, decor needs freshening up. Parking charge of £10 per night surprising and disappointing.”

“Kettle in room was dirty brown yellowy in the bottom asked for it to be cleaned to be told it had been cleaned so was unable to make a brew in the room. Breakfast was ok although fried egg was not cooked properly very snotty. Boiled eggs uncooked today. The woman had bad attitude the way she spoke to guest blunt and rude. Would not stay here again.”

“Clean and quiet. The staff are helpful. Fully equipped kitchen and dry room for wet clothes. But the air quality inside the eight people dormitory room is poor because the window is small. ”

“Dogs friendly lodge. I do appreciate people in the UK treat their dogs as families. We saw a lot of friendly dogs in the lodge. What a great experience. The breakfast is nice and the receptionist is enthusing to deliver help. ”
