We rented this house for 3 weeks in February. Construction started on day 3 of our stay on the house directly behind us, and didn’t stop for the entire time we were there. The amount of noise ALL DAY, EVERY SINGLE DAY was horrible. I called the management company who is listed as the“HOST” for this property 10 times, requesting for the “LOCAL CONTACT” to contact me. Red Awning-the management company listed on VRBO for this property is not located in Florida, it is located in California. Each time I called, Red Awning said they would need contact the local Florida team, who would contact me. The local team NEVER contacted me. Our plans were to work from home/outside, and enjoy some nice weather. Due to the extreme noise every day, we could not work outside as intended, and even when inside, we could hear the construction noise ALL DAY LONG. To say it was upsetting and disruptive is an understatement. The fact that we NEVER got a call from the local team/host/owner to discuss options for us is unacceptable. We also called Red Awning, 2 weeks into our stay because there was a horrible smell in the house that would not go away (we thought it was a dead rodent). Again, we were told they would contact the local team, who would reach out to us. NO ONE ever contacted us and we had to live with the smell for the remainder of our stay. There will be construction noise at this property for the next year and if you have an issue, it will go unresolved/ignored. DO NOT RENT
