Fuji is about 50 kilometers away and you can see it from a couple of train ride stops away whether permitting. "This was an extremely affordable place to suit our last-minute decision to stay in Koshigoe. The room was great, everything was pretty basic but for the price we paid it was more than enough. The owners were wonderful despite our very limited Japanese and even gifted us some postcards on departure! We were able to leave our bags on the day of checkout and explore the area before heading onto our next destination."

"From beginning to end it was an awesome experience. It made me want to extend my stay. Staff was awesome, everyone was very helpful from the door men to the cooks. Dinner was delightful, breakfast was amazing. The hotel was very clean from the outside to our room. The rooms are beautiful, we had the river view room. All the amenities where great & clean. 10/10 i recommend. I will be returning"

"A truly incredible experience!! The room, amenities, food and staff were all phenomenal!! As soon as you walk into the room, you are greeted with the most amazing views and private onsen. My husband and I wanted to make this trip special and I’m so glad we booked this property because it achieved that goal. I would absolutely recommend this property to any person visiting Hakone. It was amazing! Also, the food packages are absolutely worth it— at the very least book the breakfast and then grab dinner separately one of the nights!"

"The property is in MINT condition, great job to frontdesk, housekeeping, maintenance staff! The level of service at frontdesk was superb! Minor issue we experienced was on first night when we requested late access to pool (20 minutes left we realized understand the importance of adhering to time / rules in Japan for when we have to leave the pool area) was requested and the "spa" staff seemed to be express concern over this. I would highly recommend that since Hyatt chain has a lot of international travellers, it may be best to post a sign to indicate the last admission time."

"Nice but antiquated hotel in Hakone. Conveniently located at Lake Ashinoko adjacent to the "Pirate ship" dock. It gets very quiet after 4-5pm, with very few restaurants in the surrounding area. Motohakone is a short 10-15minute walk where you'll find the closest 7/11. Also a nice scenic walk to the Hakone Shrine. Take advantage of your stay in Hakone by getting up early and visiting the Shrine before the day crowd comes in. Very peaceful and serene in the early morning."
