Great Escape

This is a wonderful property. The views are amazing! We were there in a cold month, and look forward to coming back in warmer weather to utilized the great outdoor decks. There were four couples and everyone got a king or queen sized bed. We loved that it was one floor. A great vacation spot! Close to lots of things to do. Having said that, we didn't leave the house for the first day and a half! We just enjoyed the space. We would definitely recommend this space to anyone looking for a getaway.

Overall, the property was grand with great views of the mountains. There were some problems though. The house was without heat for 5 days (compensation, floor heaters and wood were provided). The house needed cleaning especially vacuuming and dusting. We saw a note we assumed from the cleaning team reminding us to leave a tip at the end of our stay. This we felt was in bad taste. Fireplaces should have been cleaned of previous wood burns. I did not appreciate no access to the gate at route 184 for entering and leaving the property. This was very inconvenient. Upon arriving to the property, the access code did not work. The front and back of the house was not shoveled and salted for ice. We spent our first 3 hours shoveling and spreading salt. The hot tub was wonderful but did not use it until heat was restored to the house. It appeared as both fireplaces were installed with gas starters, but we could not locate the key to turn gas on and off. There were also burned-out light bulbs in need of repair. In the end, we had a nice time, but it could have been so much better with more attention spent on the details.

Lovely Home - Inadequate Service

The home is absolutely gorgeous, the views spectacular and the location is fabulous. This was our second stay at Misty Mountain Manor. The kitchen is very well stocked including tons of dishes, pots, pans and even spices and other accessories. It's obvious previous renters have paid-it-forward with supplies and we did as well. Nice touch! The bedrooms are fantastic, spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Each bedroom has a more than adequate sized bathroom which really helps with a large group of people. The outside deck area with fireplace and TV is exceptional. Large, spacious and the views of Grandfather Mountain are amazing. Also the owners allow the use of their SONOS which is really a very nice touch and helps set the evening with any music you wish to stream. Thanks owners! :) I would like to give this 5 stars but cannot for the following reason. The home has a hot tub. In fact, it is a very high-end hot tub (Hot Springs) as we have one as well at our home. We arrived on Saturday and enjoyed the tub until Tuesday afternoon at which point the water was becoming unbalanced. I looked in the floater for bromine tablets and none were to found. We called Carolina Cabin Rentals on Tuesday afternoon and were ASSURED the tub had been serviced on the day of our arrival. By Wednesday, the hot tub smelled like the end of a pier and was unusable for the remainder of the week. For the amount charged for an entire week's stay and the flippant attitude of the property mgmt. associate, this is flat-out inexcusable. Not the fault of the owners nor the home but you folks need to get with the program. If you are going to rent million-dollar homes, most of your clients are going to expect much better service! Again, great home, great location and we will stay again but the service MUST BE IMPROVED before we do so!

Amazing Mountain Home

This home is top notch! It has everything you need and then some with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a spacious living area, fun pool table, and beautiful deck with plenty of seating tables, outdoor fireplace, TV and a spectacular view! All the appliances are top quality and the gourmet kitchen is open and wonderful. The neighborhood is beautiful and very nice to take long morning walks. The location is perfect for getting to Banner Elk, Boone and Blowing Rock with easy access to the main roads. I hope to get the opportunity to return again to this lovely home! Thank you to the owners for opening their doors to guests! I live year round in Naples where all the snowbirds flock to in the winter, but I think I can consider myself a true “leafer” in this beautiful part of NC!

Beautiful mountain getaway

This property is beautiful. It was very clean and accommodating, it has everything that you will need to have a wonderful trip to the North Carolina mountains. It’s very pet friendly as well, our dog Jackson very much enjoyed his stay too! It’s also very convenient to many restaurants and hiking trails. We will definitely be back!

Cluttered and dirty...what a shame.

This home is in a beautiful community and would be a wonderful house, if not for the clutter, the dirt, and the dust. The home has everything you would need but ... There is clutter everywhere, filling every table and shelf, including an abundance of fake flowers arrangements. There are dead plants on the tables. It was evident that a dog had recently been in the home since there were smears on the glass doors to outside, paw prints on the hardwood floors and dog hair on the bedroom rugs, with balls if it under the furniture. Every accent mirror is dirty and smeared. The fabric on the furniture in the great room is soiled and stained, the hardwood floors are filthy, and there are loose 'animal hide' rugs throughout (and since they are loose and rumpled), they are a trip hazard. The bathroom throw rugs are soiled and dirty, there was mold in the master shower, and the master sink did not drain. The ice maker stopped working the day after we arrived. The end tables had evidence of prior guests drinks on the glass. There was a dead flower bouquet on the kitchen counter. We contacted the rental company and they provided a quick response to attempt to remedy the situation, but the entire home needs a very deep clean. It would be a challenge for any cleaning company to clean around the stuff in that home. A real shame and a huge disappointment.

Great spring break trip

We rented this house with our family and another family, and everyone loved the house! Plenty of room for everyone and the neighborhood is gorgeous. We enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace and pool table. Highly recommend!

Misty Mountain Manor

Beautiful house ... certainly not a cabin at 3,800+ square feet. Wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. Three couples stayed for a week. Easy drive to Grandfather Mountain and other attractions. We had a nice fire in the fireplace each evening using firewood from the guy passed the Citgo station. The hot tub was great as were the views. We saw almost no one while we were there. We were impressed by the huge houses in the area … especially the five bedroom and seven bath. Just a wonderful place to stay.

Holiday Gathering - 3 Generations

Misty Mountain Manor is a beautiful home and was the perfect mountain home for 3 generations to get together and spend quality time together but also allow us each to have our own space with each bedroom having its own bathroom, space for children to play and for adults to sit and talk. The kitchen is fully stocked for any equipment or utensils you would need. So much to do in surrounding area - wineries, breweries, Linville Caverns, Linville Waterfalls, Waterfalls Park, hiking and just relaxing. Reason for giving 4 stars and not 5 is the morning of our checkin we were informed the gas grill and outside fireplace were not operable. We had planned to use both during our stay. (When we arrived and looked at both items we think they had not been operable for awhile.) Also, the hot tub stopped working half way through our stay - which maintenance came to repair but was not repaired with the first visit and a few phone calls later. We would stay at Misty Mountain Manor again.

Enjoyed the Stay

Home is lovely and we very much enjoyed the stay. Absolutely gorgeous views. It's a shame that the property will have 30-day minimum rentals in 2020. Given its very close proximity to Charlotte and the Triad, I'm afraid the homeowners have shot themselves in the foot. But, then again, perhaps they just don't care for many rentals. Understandable if that's the goal.

beautiful secluded property with a wonder view

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was good the view out of the back was spectacular of grandfather mountain. The property itself didn't lack anything from corkscrew to strainer. It was well decorected with all sorts of interesting things to observe. We lost power due to a storm and there many many candles that provided light for us during the outage. A big plus is that our car was protected from the storm as the storm lasted all night long with very high winds. All in all this was the nicest place we have had the pleasure to visit. The only negative is the directions to this property was severely lacking. The highway that we were directed to was 194 when the Correct road is 184 and the next road we were directed to turn onto was not marked. We finally had to call Carolina rental and the fellow who I think his name is Andrew stayed on the phone with us until we found the property and I must say he was extremely helpful and so nice. We would love to come back again.
