Boranup Gallery

Boranup which includes interior views
Find a unique keepsake from your Margaret River trip at this showroom featuring artworks, sculptures, handcrafts and furniture made from locally sourced timber.

Tucked into the majestic Boranup Karri Forests, Boranup Gallery presents a treat for the senses with its artisan-crafted collections. Peruse pieces by some of Margaret River’s finest artists, craftspeople and designers, as well as featured works by artists of national acclaim.

The first thing you will notice about Boranup Gallery is its architectural style. Built almost entirely from materials sourced from the local environment, the building features rammed-earth walls reinforced by Western Australian native hardwood. Admire the backdrop of fragrant karri trees as you stroll along the front lawns. Upon entering the gallery, take a deep breath and savor the scent of freshly carved timber.

Peruse the gallery’s extensive showrooms, which have been curated by Gi’ Nelle Stammers since 1998. Spend some time admiring the paintings, photographs and prints that adorn the walls. Blown and slumped-glass creations and polished timber carvings glow under the gallery lights. You’ll see artworks by noted Australian artists, as well as up-and-coming Margaret River designers.

Examine the gallery’s collection of handcrafted timber carvings, homewares and furniture. Four local craftsmen work on site to shape jarrah, marri and blackbutt timbers into unique and custom-made creations. Admire the solid timber construction and burlwood inlays of the furniture pieces. If you see something you’d like, chat to the gallery attendant about worldwide shipping or custom commissions.

Take a seat at the gallery’s café to enjoy a cup of coffee or a freshly cooked meal. Sample house-made cakes, chutneys and jams while looking out across the beautiful greenery of the karri forest. You might see splendid fairy wrens hopping about on the branches of eucalypt trees outside the gallery, as well as purple-crowned lorikeets, golden whistlers and robins.

Boranup Gallery is located near Lake Cave, which is approximately a 20-minute drive from the township of Margaret River in the gorgeous region of the same name. The gallery is open daily, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
