You’re really just paying for the location don’t expect much beyond that. The breakfast is very basic, consisting of only coffee and a single pastry. The room wasn’t very clean, and overall the hotel offers only the most basic facilities without any extras. If location is your top priority, it might work for you, but otherwise, it’s just a very standard hotel with minimal amenities.

The stay was pretty average. I think the redeeming factor in why the price is so expensive is the location but that’s all. The room was not that big and “breakfast included” means a croissant the size of my hand and a small coffee. Pretty disappointing as I specifically booked this hotel thinking I would save money since I was provided breakfast but in the end I still had to eat out since I’m celiac and there was no alternative to the croissant

This boutique hotel in the heartnof the nicest area of downtown Boston was the most unexpectedly pleasant travel find! Its easy to rave about its warm ambiance, attentive and joyful Front Desk staff, fantastic room! with a beautiful red brick wall, functional and architecturally interestingnwall unit & shelves, perfectly appointed bath (with the SMARTEST space saving decor I've seen) and - wait for it - spa shower with floor to ceiling tile and hot, hot steamy water. This hotel room was so spot-on, I was sad to be there only 1 night. The hallways could use a bit of love, but do not let that deter you. This spectacular find is soooo worth booking! The location is perfect! Sandwiched between Newbury Street and Copley Plaza - I enjoyed both immensely but could not wait to get back to my little jewel. Thank you, Charlesmark. I will be back!

Excellent location. Caught by a blizzard and had to stay longer. Staff were friendly and accommodating and sorted out our longer stay efficiently. The only down point would be that we picked this because breakfast was included but it is really just a croissant and a coffee-not great if you don't want a croissant and don't drink coffee

Fabulous location for shopping, historic sites, restaurants, convenience store, coffee shops. Hotel offers complimentary continental breakfast, coffee that is better than Starbucks, plus a mini croissant. Staff is friendly and helpful. When I left behind my book and gloves as I was headed to the airport on the metro, a receptionist ran down the street to give them to me, all the while it was drizzling an icy rain. I as so startled I forgot to give her a tip before she ran back. She deserves a bonus!

The CharlesMark Hotel is a simple 4 story boutique hotel right in Boston's Copley Sq. I arrived in the middle of winter to find its staff was all young, friendly, competent and diverse. There is an elevator. But my room was on second floor mezzanine up the stairs in the back and just off a sparse dining area with an attached 3 computer business ledge with bar seats. The room was a small 8x10ish fully wood furnished space. Everything was compact and useful and included an interesting surround sound system, fridge (ya! 2 free waters inside,) storage nooks but not a formal desk or huge flat screen. Attached was my own full, spotlessly, small bathroom. Not cramped, but YES w/cute toiletries, hair dryer, music, plastic cups and fluffy towels. A firm queen bed provided a solid nights sleep. I did wake up with a garbage truck outside my 2nd floor window. But it was urbanely ok-- if you know what I mean? Then a instantly hot shower and some comped coffee and a overly crunchy (ahh, stale?) croissant at the sweet bar in the lobby. But the full service l Landwer Cafe is next door, pretty much in the hotel. The front desk securly held my luggage past check-out and had a nice landing spot to park a car in front to register and loadin for a few minutes. They have discounts for 24hr parking at a close garage and a gym pass too. Look, I was photographing a job literally across Boylston at Boston Public Library so this fairly inexpensive tightly run tiny hotel was absolutly location perfect!

We were pleased being greeted by Lily. She was down to earth, responsive, and extremely helpful throughout the process, which we truly appreciated. The rooms, however, were extremely small. In fairness, this is something I likely should have recognized more clearly when booking, so that part is on me. Unfortunately, the morning coffee and croissant were disappointing. The croissant was very stale and so hard that it broke into pieces when we tried to bite into it. Additionally, there was a jar displayed with a political statement that included profanity (“F--- ICE) I work for the government and found that language unprofessional and tacky for an open establishment. Regardless of political views, I believe businesses should maintain a neutral and professional environment for all guests. Overall, while Lily herself was wonderful to deal with, there were aspects of the stay that did not meet expectations.

Room: 3/5. It lacks renovation, and it’s also noisy. You can hear the floors on top of yours and people walking down the hall. Amenities: 2/5. Not many inclusions. The front desk didn’t even mention the Wi-Fi password at check-in time and not offered an overview of the property. TVs are old. Staff: 4/5. While not perfect, most of the staff was nice. Food: n/a. We didn't try it. Location: 5/5

There was a band-aid in the shower when we got there. I called the front desk and they sent someone to clean it. That made me question how clean the room really was. The "complementary breakfast" is just coffee, tea, and a pastry from the on-site restaurant. That was pretty misleading and disappointing. The t.v. channel guide needed to be updated because the numbers listed didn't match the channels. Overall it was okay for a 1-night stay. The location is great. Close to BOS Airport and walking distance from the nearby shopping center. I hope they either remove the "complementary breakfast" from their list of amenities or make it an actual breakfast.
