We really appreciated the reception desk manager and also meeting the new hotel manager. If your are a fan of literary history this circa 1716 inn is central to walking adventure. Upscale and very quiet.

No breakfast offerings during our stay. Coffee was available. There were two restaurants in the downtown area for breakfast. We stayed in the old inn portion of the hotel. Temperatures varied during our stay. The only air conditioning was a window unit which was noisy! The heating was spotty. The bathroom never warmed up. If i stayed again I’d opt for the newer section of the hotel.

We had dinner there. It was very good and wait staff was great. Staff at front office was very friendly and informative about the inn and activities in the area. Parking a bite challenging, over all nice experience.

I had a pleasant stay. It was quiet at night, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. I was slightly surprised that the bar stopped serving at 9pm but the bar tender was gracious in pouring an ale for me even though they had just closed.

This hotel is in the middle of Concord historic district, so it’s a great location for sightseeing and walking around shopping or eating. It’s a very charming and historic old building, so the rooms/bathrooms are small and staircases are steep and narrow, and no elevator. The parking is free in the back, but it is difficult to get the entrance. There is a restaurant on the first floor, so very convenient to enjoy lunch and dinner. The staff are friendly and we got free bottles of water when we checked in, so I made coffee in the room. My room was facing a busy road, so the speeding cars made me wake up at night.

Not a very clean place. The tub was peeling, and the corners were not clean. The room smelled like men's cologne. The room was situated along the main road and the vehicles were loud. The heat: the heat was up so high I thought I was going to freak out. I was unable to adjust the temperature, so had to turn on the A/C and put that on 68F. It was so hot that I became very thirsty. The man who was working late-night at the desk got angry at me when I asked him if I could get a cup of ice water he had in a pitcher. He growled that it was HIS water and he had just taken a sip out of the pitcher without using a glass. Very awkward! I told him I was all set, then he told me I could buy a bottled water from the fridge by the front desk. I wouldn't have needed the water if it wasn't so hot in the room! Restaurant: I got the Butternut Squash Bisque, and it was devoid of flavor. I appreciated the wonderful friendly service of the younger workers who were there during the daytime hours at check-in, and check-out. I have to confess that staying here gave me no comfort at all during my travels. Other suggestions: have a list of local events and things to do for guests! I truly wish I could say better things about this stay since I was really looking forward to it.

Never rent directly from this hotel - You will pay a minimum $60 more than if you went through a third party app. Expect to be warm during your stay unless it's the middle of summer, as the hotel pretends their air conditioning units are "out of order." I stayed in two separate rooms on consecutive nights, and both cooling units had the same "out of order sign." It's a lie. Also, the room had a dysfunctional security lock on the door, to which housekeeping claimed that the latch lock was all they have at their hotel after a failed attempt to fix the dead bolt. If you stay at this place, expect the restaurants and tavern to be full of locals. If you wish to eat from the restaurant or visit the bar, you will need either a reservation or arrive at the tavern very early. Your love of history should be high if you're going to stay here. Otherwise, expect frustrations and high prices.
