Very comfortable and homey VRBO, had everything we needed and then some. Four bedrooms, plus big family room gave us plenty of space each for our two couples, single adult, and kidlets, ages 7, 3, 17 months and five months. High chair was a welcome surprise! (There was also a booster chair and Packn’Play, though we had brought our own.)
Weather was out of the Dischers’ control... mid-nineties, unseasonably warm for a Minnesota June— crazy hot for us Alaskans... A/C worked perfectly. Basement quite cool. Early coffee on the deck was very pleasant, soaking up the view while listening to the birds and world wake up. Kids were excited to see two deer and a raccoon in the neighborhood. Me, too! Mama Duck with bigbunchababies swam by a few times near docks, seemed to be coming from high reeds just to left on bay edge. Loon calls were fantastic, a very quiet peaceful environment.
We were sorry it was just too hot to take the paddle boat and paddle boards out- they looked fun. Yard games, deck furniture and grill also available and on the right day we’d have really enjoyed using them.
Only drawback worth noting is it was a little further off campus than expected. Most folks for our family reunion, about seventy count, were staying at Breezy Point Resort. We were only group not. It was not as easy as we’d hoped to get there, but much of that was also impacted by the extreme heat and ages of our Littles. We rented a golf cart to add some flexibility getting around. Sean Smuda at Breezy Point Rentals was so easy to work with and the carts were new!
I recommend you check in with Pelican Lake Conservation Club for their dining specials. They raise funds for local nonprofits and community programs hosting regular breakfasts and dinners. Food was excellent! Verla was a dear in working with our group.
Owners of home, Randy and Deb, are super nice folks, emailed with them before visit, easy checkin and checkout, met them briefly as we were loading/leaving. Would highly recommend and not hesitate to come stay again! Have a great summer, all.
