"We stayed in the lodge which is just across the road from the main hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the great part was being able to sit outside next to the river, right next to the bar! Breakfast was in the main hotel and was really good."

Breathtaking cliff top farmhouse with deserted beach

"We love rural and this is rural. Being hikers, we were able to navigate the hill down to the beach. There appears to have been dug out dirt steps but most of them are eroded down to basically a path. We were ok with this, but feel it important to mention for anyone that may have satiability challenges. as I did need my husbands assistance on a few spots. The picture used on the site is old. Currently there is much growth around the house rather than the pictured open field, but this allowed for some shade and wind block. Our one struggle was the internet was very weak and unstable so we were limited on our ability to communicate with our stateside phones even on the VRBO site with our landlord. Thankfully we were not on a "working" vacation where good internet would have been a need. The home is rural but also conveniently located just outside Arklow town for shopping needs. The beds were comfortable. The home and beach are very peaceful. The setting overall was awesome and it was a great place to "unplug". Lord willing, if we collect enough flight miles to fly free again, we hope to be back."

"Stayed for one night in the family room with my two children. The room was spacious, even with a double bed and two singles. The en suite was spotless. There were plenty of spare toilet rolls, as well as shower gel and handsoap. The room also had tea and coffee making facilities, a bottle of drinking water, and a lovely touch of a little selection of fudge sweets. There was a safe and hairdryer in the wardrobe. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. It was lovely and quiet throughout the night. No disturbances at all. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice: cereal, fruit yoghurt, homemade brown bread, porridge, local honey, as well as the cooked options of bacon, sausage, egg (any way you like), tomato, mushroom, beans and toast. The fresh coffee was delicious. The staff were excellent. On hand if you needed anything, but also left you to your own devices, which I appreciated. All in all, I would say hotel standard and I will definitely stay again."
