It has a great atmosphere with good food and the breakfast is wonderful. The country setting is lovely too but within easy driving distance of the motorways, railway and ports. I would definitely recommend”

“The manager and staff at this hotel go above and beyond. My wife is disabled and travelling can be a challenge. The folks here just go out of the way to make things as easy as they can. The accessible room is large and the bathroom with its roll in shower and shower stool is well designed and functional. Top marks to all the staff.”

“This is an ancient, historic hotel. Be mindful of the fact that you are staying here more for the character and historical significance then for the comfort. Stairways are small and steep and parking - went available at all - is challenging. That said, however, the staff is very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our one night stay.”

“Poor breakfast quality. Room was not similar to the photos and seating was much worse. Bed was too soft. Lawns and pool were great though”

“The bed was comfortable and the bedding was lovely. The en-suite bathroom smelt of mould, was extremely tiny, as was the hand basin. Also the shower door kept jamming. The heating would not work, despite the temperature being only 15 degrees, although staff rectified very quickly. We lost Netfix and despite request, this was not rectified. On a more positive note, the food was lovely, the staff friendly and the pub was well located. ”
