The executive suite advertised was not what we got. Room very cold, carpet worn & dirty. Bed just ordinary no red bedding very disappointed. There was nothing executive about this room . Reported on arrival that the chair in the room was broken , no one came to investigate. Bay window dirty very poor.

I didn't eat here so can't comment on the quality of the food or service in the restaurant. Check in was fairly easy, my room was big and well appointed. I took a star off because the bathroom could do with some attention - the toilet is old and worn and the trim around the edge of the sink is worn and unsightly. Check out was easy. Parking was easy. The price was good - cheaper than Premier Inn and on the whole, better appointed. I would recommend this hotel if you don't have 5* expectations and are not a perfectionist/nit picker.

The hotel is very grand and the room I had was very big. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The restaurant had very nicely cooked food and good choices and there was a very good self service buffet breakfast

Bad for business customers
Have to pay for everything including Wi-Fi even in exec room which was £7 per night. Unable to add food to the room bill and have to pay separately. Expensive. Breakfast not worth the money everything is very greasy. Orange juice warm. Room is very dated. Smell of damp coming from bathroom. Tiny TV. Volume button didn’t work on TV remote. 2 uncomfortable chairs in an exec room and cheap fridge just dumped on the counter with an annoying buzz all the time. Will not be staying here again.

Stayed a number of times based on location. Parking is limited, rooms basic but functional. Internet in most rooms is terrible as is any mobile signal. Was fined for making a mistake on the car parking system last time (defaults to 1 night stay).

The price is what I liked. Being able to add on swim, dinner etc. I assume that the state of the hotel reflects the price? It’s obviously in need of a facelift. The staff were lovely and friendly and that made it a good stay!

Our room needs updating especially bathroom. The receptionist checked us in but gave no information of facilities, times for meals etc. Also failed to inform us that the restaurant was fully booked for evening meal. We went for our evening meal waited to be seated by member of staff as notice requested (why is that notice there), to be told they were full with functions, go to bar area!!! We asked bar person if they were putting England game on TV response, don’t know… if there’s BT games on we’ll see…. WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT!!! Very poor and rude customer service.

Short pleasant stay at a fine hotel
I've stayed at this hotel on more than one occasion. I enjoyed the location cleanliness and the warm welcome from the staff. It was peaceful and very relaxing. The rooms are very spacious with a very comfortable bed. I will be staying again in the near future.

The staff at the hotel were really friendy and welcoming. The Bar food and drinks where really good value for money. The rooms was comfortable and had everything you needed but i rhink could have had a deeper clean. The windows were alittle grubby. But for what i paid it was good. I would stay again.

I worked on this hotel when it was being built in the late 80's. It was then called the Bromsgrove Hilton, worthy of the Hilton name as a prodigious hotel of top quality. I was expecting similar quality when we stayed there for a long weekend recently. How wrong we were and very disappointed to see how neglected the hotel had become with weeds growing around the gardens, dirty windows, loose toilet seat that wanted to turn 180 degrees every time you sat on it, exposed electric cables, cob webs, the list goes on. Additional charges of £5 per night to park and £7 for wifi again reaffirmed how out of touch the Britannia group are with their pricing. Forgot to mention that there were asylum seekers staying at the hotel, with no mention of this at the time of booking, again confirmed that I won't be staying here again.

I could not believe the attitude of other people staying in this property. There were people there with dangerous looking dogs and so many people roaming the corridors in the early hours of the morning talking at the top of their voices despite a sign asking for respect from 10pm to 7am so other guests could sleep. The worst thing was the people in the room next door who were shouting most of the evening and by 2.40am I could take no more and went to the reception to ask if someone could speak to them to ask them to be quiet. A person was sent to the door which was opened and a lengthy conversation continued where the employee was wonderful but the neighbour was argumentative and rude. I eventually got to bed at 3.30 My elderly mother (94) was quite upset. Reception were very apologetic and they knew the person involved which made me wonder if the hotel was used for accommodating difficult people? I was very happy to leave the hotel in the morning and will not be returning.
