"Beautiful, spacious renovated old mill. Great outdoor space overlooking private stream. Luxury bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms. Large kitchen, dining room and 2 lounge areas. An amazing stay with everything you could possibly want in a quiet, secluded area, close to Whitby. Would thoroughly recommend and wiuld definitely stay again if in the area. "Within 10 mins walking for shop, train station and beach. Really quiet location. Lovely decor and homely. A few staples available to use, as walkers we would have appreciated some shampoo as we were not carrying any but only a small niggle. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again."

"We had a super stay and it was ideal for our mixed family group. Very well equipped and beautifully appointed. Our only disappointment was the lack of the BBQ as we had meals planned and food bought! After discussion with the host we bought a small BBQ which we have left at the property so that no one else will be in our position!"

"The house was everything we hoped for and more. The decor is spot on and there can't be many houses in Whitby with a better vista. The only thing I would say though is that it is very difficult to load and unload...Church St car park was packed so we had to use the Abbey car park which is a gruelling up/downhill slog for the less fit/able. Be prepared to travel very light as you can't get close to the property with a car. Having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return."

"A lovely welcome by receptionist and an upgrade to a superior room was very nice. Lovely staff at breakfast too, especially Stephen. Food at breakfast was lovely. Rooms are a bit dated and in need of some decoration but bedding lovely and clean. Pool nice but spoilt by younger generation who didn’t know how to behave in a spa pool. Parking next to hotel really easy. £6/night. Pay at reception. "

Peaceful nights at the Wilson.
"I stayed at the Wilson for a couple of nights when working in nearby Whitby, a ten minute drive away. Sneaton is a quiet hamlet near to Ruswarp and is very quiet so great for a peaceful night of sleep. The bed at the Wilson was comfortable with clean crisp bedding. The room was on the small side as it was the attic of the Wilson BUT I was there to sleep after long work days. The room was well set out with a window looking out to the coast, two chairs were placed near the window so I enjoyed my cup of tea on waking. The car park was large enough to afford plenty of spaces to choose from. The downstairs bar and restaurant looked to be very nice, however, I missed out on both as I was an early start and late finish so also missed out on breakfast "
