“The hotel is an old building so don't expect the rooms to be modern...having said that there was everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable and warm and the included breakfast was more than adequate. Check in was super easy. Be aware that there is a flight of steps to go up to all rooms so if mobility is an issue this could be a little tricky The bathrooms are shared but are close to all rooms and the showers were nice and hot. “My impression of the Big 4 Big River Holiday Park was a disappointment, over priced for what was on offer. This Park was tidy, but lack shaded areas or greenery, has a very mediocre (small) size gated swimming pool. The two bedroom cabins are very small containing a matchbox size bathroom, the shower floor tiles are extremely slippery, with the shower hot and cold water hard to regulate. The slope down to the riverside from the cabin was too steep if for anyone mobility issues. On the positive……

“The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and tidy; however, the toilet flush buttons barely worked. The shower was not properly sealed, so water easily leaked out onto the floor. Also, the lack of a bathroom ventilation fan left the room quite humid after hot showers, even with the small window left open overnight.”
