“Our experience at this place was extremely disappointing. While the food was excellent, everything else fell far below expectations. There was no electricity; despite being solar-powered, we ran out of power entirely. Then we lost access to water. This is unacceptable, especially during the rainy season in the Philippines. The bed was not a double as advertised but a small one and a half size, and the sofa was just bare, hard wood without a cushion. The single bulb in the room was blinding,……

“Far away from El Nido, good if you are looking for a cheap accommodation. Don’t ask them anything, there is no follow up. We have asked to get a lift from the ferry terminal but they didn’t provide anything. We have to find something on our own. No diner available and breakfast is average. Good will but it’s not enough.”

“The staff was very accomodating with our requests and informative with activities we can do around the resort. The place was very quiet and was able to provide me with a much needed break from a busy life. The views were amazing. All in all, it was an amazing experience made easier by their staff. As this is an "off-grid" stay out in the outbacks of Palawan, a bit of dust and dirt everywhere is expected. But the staff made efforts to provide us with anything we needed to stay comfortable. ”

“This was absolute disaster as we couldnt get there by car and we ended up in the middle of nowhere still waiting for a refund as we had to sleep in our car and never did get to the place wasnt accesble by car at all wouldnt ever recomend thos place should be taken off Expedia as this is a tottal trap !!!!! The place is in a very noisy area, so many roosters so bring good earplugs. The beach is filthy and you cannot swim there. Would not recommend going there ”

“We loved our stay at Lawka! The location in Lio was great and being in the Kayle Artisano complex gave us access to some fun shops and restaurants. The room was very accommodating and modern. The staff was helpful and having a scooter included with the room is a huge plus. Also a huge shoutout to the Lawka coffee shop. Some of the best coffee we had during our trip and it was super practical to be able to grab a quick bite while checking out. A free coffee per day was included for each guest and……

“A stay at the Vue Grand Hilltop is a wonderful experience. As the name suggests you'll enjoy great views over the neighboring islands and you can actually watch the sunrise from your bed. All the bungalows are built in traditional style, all wood and with great natural ventilation. Not having air-con was never a problem. “I don't usually write negative reviews but I had to with this hostel. First off, the staff were great, no complaints there. I never stayed in the dorm area as they were all booked so no comment there. I had a loft style room. The stairs up to it were very steep. I can see someone falling on the way down if they've had a few too many. One of the steps was very rotted out and felt like it may give way any day. I get we are in a somewhat remote area of Palawan but the power and wifi kept……

“Staff especially Lhynne was wonderful but overall amenities and property management including food options is very poor. New Year’s Eve event was horrible, most of the things promised didn’t happen & food left a lot to desire for. Overall not a world class 3 star resort even. The staff however are polite and tried their best to provide a good experience but they are constrained by the amenities & what’s available for them to do. Overpriced for a resort of this quality. ”

“We stayed at Ahana Resort for four nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very attentive and truly focused on meeting guests’ needs, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The only suggestion I would make is to have a small fridge in the room to keep drinks cool. Other than that, everything was great and we really appreciated the warm hospitality.”
