"Simply poorly taken care of. What could have been a routine clean room was not really that clean. Old paint splattered onto furniture, curtains, and the floor. Since it was a bit dirty in appearance, I checked for bed bugs. As I’m glad to report not finding any, I did find the smoke alarm under the mattress. It was beeping as if the battery was low, but the battery was still in it. There was a smoke alarm in the ceiling, and I assume the staff saw it wasn’t there and installed another one, but obviously didn’t find the one that had been removed. This was my second time staying here, and will be my last. The previous time was about 2 years ago and wasn’t much better. While it is the only hotel to stay at in Commerce, it is worth the travel to Greenville or Sulphur Springs to have better accommodations. And, it’s unfortunate since it just needs a little TLC. Or a lot of it."

"I enjoyed my stay at Best Western Plus. The staff were friendly and helpful with great customer service. The room was large, clean and well maintained with comfortable beds and hot showers. I liked having a couch in our room as an added place to sit with an additional sink as well with microwave and fridge. I used both the gym and the pool which were perfect for what I needed. I liked that the hotel is walking distance to various restaurants and shopping with direct easy access to the freeway. American breakfast is included. I would definitely stay again!"

"We go to this property about twice a month and usually have no issues, but this night the hotel was fully booked and we spent about $50 more than we are use to. Tthe room we were given had an A/C unit that was broken. It was only blowing out of 2/3 of the capacity as fans inside the machine were broken and the temp wouldn’t go below 72 (on a humid night) when it normally can get to 60 in those rooms. Around 7 pm we contacted the front desk about leaving and getting a refund and they said for us to wait as they were going to send someone out. About 2 hrs later they had someone there and they replaced the entire unit and immediately the room cooled down. This was about 10:30 pm by the time the repair men left. 10:30 pm. $170 for a night where I didn’t get to relax until 10:30 pm. Called the manager the next business day about getting a free night due to the incident and they said “we stayed, so we can’t give you anything.” The issue I have is my wife and I attempted to get a refund and leave earlier in the night and they told us they couldn’t do that yet the manager said that because we stayed, they can’t honor a free night due to the issue we had. This is not ok. They lost a loyal customer from this. Don’t treat your customers like this."

"I was really impressed with the value of this property. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the water pressure was great, the toiletries smelled amazing and the room had all the little things I needed (iron, hairdryer, empty mini fridge). The room was well soundproofed and the blinds blocked the light from the window properly. The property was aesthetically pleasing and the staff were all lovely. I arrived late on an international flight and emailed to make sure my room was held and they responded so I didn’t have to worry. I like that there are snacks and drinks, including wine and beer, available for sale in the lobby. I would definitely stay here again and felt the value for the cost was high."

"Staff barely spoke English. Check-in behind security glass was intimidating. Property and parking felt unsafe. Public restroom out of order. No washcloths provided in room. $70 rate was too high. I would not recommend anyone to stay there."
