“Great family hotel”

“We had an unexpected stop due to car issues late at night, and Kathy at the check in desk was wonderful. Kind, welcoming, and even later checked to make sure we had enough towels. Gave us recommendations on where to eat later at night. We just passed through so didn’t get to utilize any of the amenities. A bit older with drop ceiling in rooms, but clean and very convenient.”

“Room is small”

“Our deluxe room in The Mansfield House was spacious, clean and well located. The staff from front desk to the reception and wait staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Parking was plentiful and well placed. We had an outstanding dinner at the Wip bar one night and delicious dessert after dinner at another place the next night. Both were outstanding.”

“Breakfast was great. And the hotel looks like it was great in its time. They appear to be painting and repairing the facility but they aren’t moving very fast. Our bed was worn out and I wouldn’t have been able to stay a fourth night. I hurt so bad after sleeping on that bed. We were there 3 nights and the four daytime days there was never any activity on the front porch as far as construction but it was blocked off for repairs. The whole town was a disappointment as far as being kept up. And……

“Second time staying. Had the same room both years. Simple parking. Safe, quiet area. Rooms are modern & cozy. Kitchen stocked with fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, sink with sponge & dish soap as well as pots/pans, utensils, strainer, etc. very close to downtown. Restaurants everywhere!”

“The room was clean. The lobby area and front yard were beautiful. The ac was not working in the room because they were working on the hvac system, but they had a roll in unit that worked fairly well. The back landscaping and parking lot needed some improvement. We enjoyed exploring the area of Stowe, and this hotel met our needs for one night.”

“Very beautiful 100 year old house, with period furnishings. It is very clean and the hostess was nice and helpful. It is walking distance to the town of Barre which has several dining options and nice downtown. The breakfast was excellent, made with local produce and ingredients. It is a great location as a base to visit different places in Vermont.”

“Staff is awesome. Always available and accommodating! The rooms are clean and furnished well for a family to stay comfortably. The view of the mountains is gorgeous and yet you’re close to town ( walking distance) and the recreational path and so many good restaurants and shopping!! My family, ages 2,5, 33, 37, and 63 all had a marvelous time at the resort.”
