The Historic Summit Inn

The Historic Summit Inn

8/10 Good
"Historic property is definitely a glimpse of past excellence. Food was excellent! Charming bar and roomy dining room. Place does need a serious renovation: peeling paint and worn woodwork inside and out, But inherent charms are the draw. Historical photos, lovely inviting lobby with comfy chairs and cozy gas fireplace. Excellent sunset views from large porch with rocking chairs. And the rooms, while small, and lacking in amenities, are surprisingly quiet and comfortable."

10/10 Excellent
"The 24 hour on duty staff were all extremely helpful & always polite as well as kind & friendly! They never hesitated to great me & my family when we stopped at the desk to ask a question or when we were simply walking past the desk. Everything was kept clean & orderly everyday. The daily breakfast was small & simple, but those few simple items they offered were always fresh as well as the hot coffee was always available & delicious. Whether it was meant to be available to the guest all day or not the employees never said it wasn’t when I stopped to get a cup. The parking lot & outside trash cans were kept clean & empty all thru out the day & not just attended to once daily. By the end of our week long stay I was on a 1st name basis with a few of the employees making me feel more comfortable & welcome. It was very noticeable as to why they won several awards for being the best time after time. It takes a team of dedicated people to be the best & it shows here just why they’re the BEST! They all deserve the recognition for being the kind & hardworking team my family & I had the privilege of meeting! Thank you! Ti the day manager whom I apologize for forgetting his name, Nick at night & Crystal in the afternoon/evenings along with everyone else working hard daily to serve every customer with 100% professionalism!"

Frequently asked questions

What can a history enthusiast expect from a trip to California?
You'll probably want to seek out the sights of historical relevance during your trip to California. Why not absorb the local colour with a visit to the restaurants?
What are the top historical places and other sights to visit in California?
Places to visit in the wider area include Nemacolin Castle, Rostraver Township Hall and Round Hill Park. You'll also find Uniontown Mall and State Theatre Center for the Arts in the area.
What is a historic hotel like in California?
A historic hotel gives guests a chance to stay in a place officially recognised with a historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as stately homes, palaces or even lodges, old police stations or skyscrapers — any building that's been identified as being of special interest. These types of hotels in California usually retain authentic characteristics such as period features or traditional architecture in guestrooms or communal spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
"Heritage hotel" is more common in Asia and Europe, while "historic hotel" is a term often used in the U.S. though overall the terms are quite similar. The architecture and actual building of historic hotels are generally the most significant aspect. For heritage hotels, mainly, it's cultural value as well as how it inspired the community.
Do historic hotels in California have modern facilities?
Hotel interiors feature the modern conveniences and safety features you've come to expect, though efforts have been made to preserve historic facades and treasured traditions. Private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning, free and fast Internet, and the amenities found at a contemporary hotel should be available at a historic hotel. When you choose a historic hotel in California, don't worry that you'll find a place that's uncomfortable for guests or simply rundown.
