We arrived early (around 3 hours before check-in). We were only planning to drop our bag, head out, then come back after check-in, but the guy on reception happily checked to see if a room was available, then checked us in early, with an upgraded park-view room!
The room itself was lovely - spacious, comfortable, clean, with all working appliances, and lovely views of the park.
We were able to come and go as we needed, without ever feeling like we were imposing.
The breakfast was plentiful and tasty - a "help yourself" continental selection, which we were able to take up to our room and eat privately.
The room featured a large smart TV - only gripe was that it had limited apps (as it was a Philips Android TV - so had no Channel 4 or BBC iPlayer). You can cast to it, but doing so requires you join a private WiFi network with the TV, meaning you're then streaming over mobile data - which wasn't a great experience.
Speaking of WiFi - great coverage throughout the hotel and is freely included - none of this "pay extra" business.
Being only a short walk from both the train station (around 20 mins) and the town centre (around 10 mins) it's ideally positioned to act as your central hub when visiting Cambridge.
Would definitely stay again.
