Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had great stay. Our spot at Abbey del Sol was very clean and had some very nice touches. Such as snacks , coffee and the all important drinks in the fridge after a gruelling drive down the hiway. We had a problem with our fridge and it was immediately dealt with. Bravo to the Abbey.

We really enjoyed the fact that there were cold beers, coffee, sugar and snacks waiting for us upon arrival. The apartment and all facilities were extremely clean and pleasant. Staff are friendly, kind and helpful. Transportation arranged by Jin made getting to and from the airport so simple and stress free. We referred Abbey Del Sol to the flight attendant on our way home and he's booking a space!

The staff go out of their way to ensure you are looked after. The apartments are very clean and well equipped and located a 2 minute walk from the beach and 15 minute walk to local restaurants.

Reviewer Comments: After having experienced 5 other accommodations in Puerto Morelos we have been coming back every winter to Abbey del Sol vir more than 10 years. The premises are beautiful, very close to the beach as well as the town center and the staff excels in looking after the guests. From one year to the next, they remember your needs and preferences and do everything in their power to make your stay comfortable. The place is very clean and well equipped - and if skmething is lacking they get it for you. We have never met any fellow guests who were not as happy and impressed with Abbey del Sol as we are - year after year.

The unit we stayed was immaculate, spacious and had everything we needed during our week-long stay. They take care of every detail , fully equipped kitchen , potable water, and the common areas are beautifully maintains and decorated .They staff is very friendly and helpful and made us feel comfortable. We took the bikes to go for short bike rides around the town, which has a fantastic supermarket, great cafes and restaurants . We hope to go back soon!

Mary,Nancy n Jin made us feel right at home. The apartment was very well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. The staff even bought my husband a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to him. We can't wait to return in the near future, hopefully for 2 weeks. Thanks Abbey del Sol for making this one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken.

Spacious Apartment, Relaxing Pool, Quiet Location - Terrific!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Abbey del Sol is a 7-unit complex on the northern end of town. It is comprised of two 3-story buildings with a lovely pool in between. The pictures on their website are accurate. It is very well maintained and the apartment was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The Abbey del Sol management office is located at this property (they managed probably 10 properties in the area) and they are so helpful and fun to talk with (especially Mariela and Jin). They had new bikes (8 or 10) this visit and we really enjoyed riding them around town. This is a great place to stay when in Puerto Morelos.

The online booking was easy with prompt confirmation of booking details and payment schedule. On arrival we were met by Mariela and introduced to Nancy and Milko the office team who were available all week to offer anything we required. Apt.#10 is a large one bedroom clean nicely decorated apartment overlooking the has a large covered deck with table chairs and loungers. The building and grounds are beautifully well kept with nice gardens and palms surrounding the pool. All staff that we encountered were friendly and polite. We enjoy a quiet relaxed atmosphere and that's exactly what you get at Abbey Del Sol. All the other quests were polite and easy to talk to. Mariela arranged with Jin to help us move to our next accommodation in Puerto Morelos which was nice.We highly recommend Abby Del Sol and would not hesitate to book here again.

We love Abbey del Sol, with one caveat

Reviewer Comments: Abbey del Sol is a wonderful oasis away from the crowds but close enough to downtown Puerto Morelos (10-15 minute walk) to take advantage of an exceptional supermarket, shops, restaurants and other services offered there. Abbey del Sol's staff are wonderful, helpful and responsive, the units are very well and thoughtfully outfitted, everything was perfect except... we discovered during this stay that the management company accepts children as guests. Normally this might not be an issue but unfortunately not all children, or parents, exhibit behaviour that is thoughtful of others staying at the property. We witnessed adults vacating the pool area when certain families appeared and heard complaints from other guests of early morning activities and noise heard through flooring and off balconies. Unfortunate, as these episodes spoil the absolutely wonderfully relaxing experience that Abbey del Sol usually affords. Children being allowed isn't mentioned on Abbey del Sol's website (that I could find) so this was a complete surprise to us.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Surprises: 1) The bed was AWESOME! Mexico for me, has been known as a country with very hard beds. Unit 10 in Abbey del Sol has a comfy bed - one of the better beds I've slept on. The bedroom gets nice and cool at night. Both of these factors added up to great night's sleeps. 2) the folks who cleaned the room mid-stay really took pride in their work. They made cleaned thoroughly, restocked, and left fresh flowers. 3) the pool is surprisingly cold. We had water served to us at restaurants in town that were warmer than the pool ;) The courtyard is shaded so that explains that. It was still nice - you just had to coax yourself in slowly. 4) One evening, our electricity went out - only in our apartment. We got in touch with Tin who got electricians out and had it working again by the time we went to bed. Here were our favorite restaurants: El Nicho (Breakfast), Unico Beach (Lunch), and My Little Italy (Dinner). We had bloody Mary's a couple of times at Pangea in town - very nice and a good drink. One thing we missed was walking to the other side of the town square for meals. We had all of ours on the north side of the town square but on the last night, we walked past the flea market (blissfully closed at night) and saw several other restaurants we wished we had tried. That's a reason to go back!The people at Abbey del Sol were lovely. Both the guests and the employees but especially notable were Caroline, Nancy, and Tin. All of them so helpful and friendly. We will be back, for sure!

I was a very charmed; was only able to stay one night- but I will be back and I will stay at Abbey del Sol! The process and service from booking to the communication to the check-in/check- out was exceptional. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and they had a smart TV, which are really important to me. They allowed me to check out an hour late without a fee and store my bags in the office. They have free bike rentals and it's a super easy way to get down to the restaurants which will only take you 5 minutes or so. There is not one other person at the pool and it was bliss! We will definitely stay there again next time. The staff was absolutely the sweetest and most helpful. They arranged transportation from the airport and stayed in the office a little later so they could bring us to our room. It was so quiet. The pool was perfect, everything was so clean, there was so much helpful info in a binder they supplied. 10/10 experience. We had about a 10 minute walk into town but we wouldn’t change the location because we wanted a good night sleep in a quiet place and that’s exactly what this was. Thank you Abbey del Sol!

The apartment was large, including a kitchen outfitted with all the supplies we needed. We appreciated the detailed information and map and all the help with got from the staff. And we loved sitting at the beautiful pool with a bubbling fountain at the end of the day. The beach was 5 minutes away, with easy, inexpensive chair, umbrella and table rental. In addition, the town was lovely- with great restaurants and shops. When we come back, we will be sure to stay longer and plan on taking nearby yoga classes. It was a great experience- thank you!
