Had a lovely stay at the Lord Charles. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided. Lovely pool area and the staff were polite and helpful. Pool area is very relaxing. Very quiet as well. Would stay here again!

We had a wonderful warm welcome and a huge smile from Belinda who was on reception. Belinda managed to check us in to our rooms a little earlier, which was very much appreciated.

The property is beautiful and set in large grounds. The tennis courts are in excellent condition. The pool is lovely and has a great sitting area next to the pool. The pool isn’t heated so we found it too cold to swim. However, there were people using the pool. The breakfast is very nice. The rooms are large and comfortable. Our room just had a large shower and no bath. The shower was large and the water pressure was very good. I can recommend staying here.

Great but requires some maintenance

Everything was excellent, wonderful location, brilliant bedding, great service. Only issue was there was a leak in my room with a dripping tap or aircon that kept me awake most of the night. I reported it the next morning and staff said “sorry, we will het it fixed”. I only stayed one night so didn’t benefit from that.

I made a special request prior to check in that was forgotten by the hotel, house keeping woke me up at 8:30am and just barged in. Also 100 rands fee for room service sounds like a scam, I stayed in hundreds of hotels of this level and was never charged that. The property and breakfast are nice, rooms are comfortable, but service needs to be improved to justify the price.

The room was extremely comfortable and newly updated. The view was beautiful, the garden a joy to look at, but most of all, the staff! Oh my goodness, such warmth and friendliness I have not encountered in a long time. The breakfast was outstanding and it was fantastic during bad weather that lunch and dinner were options in the in-house restaurants.

Disappointment with payment

Paid in full via Hotels.com at booking ! Hotel maid me pay again and I lodged complain with Hotels.com!! Hotel admin is really bad news and they repaid me next morning. Horrible experience !!
