Nice rooms, friendly staff. Limited breakfast. Carlsbad is a boom town right now with oil and gas trucks and work pick-ups clogging the streets and workers filling the hotels so don’t expect anything else!

It’s convenient place to stay for our visits to Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains. The rooms are spacious, well equipped with kitchen, sofa, etc. , the breakfasts are good, parking is easy, and staffs are friendly.

Every hotel receptionist was very welcoming. Our room was very clean as well as the rest of the hotel. Definitely staying here again when we come down to visit family.

1st room smelled terrible. Asked to move & was told they were booked, which was not true. Finally got the manager to move us & the 2nd room didn’t smell, but the room was not clean. They refused to move us again, so we left & went to a different hotel. They refused to check us out until our scheduled check out date.

We asked for a handicapped-accessible room and were pleased to see all the grab bars and low tub threshold. We also like the size of the room and the movable table. The only complaint was the unusually loud refrigerator.

The property was modern and in a good location. What I did not like was that our room was a little dirty upon arrival. The staff didn't sweep the entry way and or bathroom. My toddler was trying to pick up all the debris on the floor in our room. For the price per night you would have expected a hot breakfast option vs their Continental offering. You can tell they do not restock so if you get their past 7 am you are not left with much. Overall this place could be better if they had a great attention to detail.

The efficiency had not even enough utensils for 2 people. The main issue was a very loud refrigerator that we reported to 3 staff members but never was fixed. Staff were very pleasant.

Nice hotel
Nice facility in great shape. Room was comfortable and updated. Staff was nice. Only issue was with the room design and furniture selection. We stayed in a king room and there is only 5" gap between the right side of the bed and the AC unit, making it a little tough to squeeze by to get in bed.

Liked the kitchen though i wasn't there long enough to use it. Did not like that people left their trash cans in the hallway. Trash was not picked up our entire stay.had to walk by smelly trash.

Customer Service needs improvement
It seemed like the person working the desk really didn't want to be there. My room had no amenities (shampoo, soap, etc.). I stopped at the desk to ask for the items and she wanted to know exactly what I needed even though I told her that there was nothing in the room. Why not just give me everything that is typically provided? I felt like she thought this was a hassle. It's a great new property, but they need customer service training.

Great place
The building appeared either brand new or newly renovated. Smelled good. All areas were clean. Very quiet. Full sized refrigerator. Stove in the room with all items needed to cook with available. Even has a dishwasher in the room. Very basic continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Where to begin.... Could it be the awful breakfast of cold cereal and hard boiled eggs? Of course, this isnt available until 7am when practically everyone visiting has to be at their work. Or, could it be the housekeeping staff that walked in at 8:30 to clean the room when check out isnt until 11 am, and I've been working NIGHTS, AND THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN IS HANGING ON THE DOOR?!?! Oh, it could be the grumpiest front desk staff eating McDonald's and attempting to talk to me with food in their mouth....or it might be the non-existent selection of all diet sodas and no candy bars at the hotel "store". Guaranteed, I will never stay here again, and I will tell all my staff to never stay here when visiting our sites. Other MainStays are wonderful....not this one.

FRIENDLY staff, large room, nice location
The hotel was very clean, comfortable bed, large room, extra kitchen items could be borrowed (like a blender), and great staff. They were so friendly. Getting to Carlsbad Caverns was very easy (that is why we were in the area). Coffee available 24/7 in the lobby. Only two slight negatives. 1. Breakfast. They had cereal, blueberry muffins (not very good), THOMAS's! English muffins, bread, yogurt, apples, bananas, and hard-boiled eggs. After four nights, I was a little tired of the offerings. 2. Cell service was poor in the area of the hotel. Only one or two bars and service was slow. Not sure why as there were lots of businesses in the area.

Good for a quick stay
Stayed here while stopping through on cross country trip. Visited Carlsbad Caverns as well. This is in the newer section of town and was built in 2020, it says but it is very run down at the heels for it only being a few years old. It worked for a quick overnight stay, though, and it was clean with very kind employees. I left postcards to be mailed but realized an hour down the road that I forgot to address one. I called back and the front desk clerk was sweet and got it all taken care of for me. Lots of places to eat and get gas near by.

Misleading Photos- No Pool for Miles
The photos on this website showed swimming pool and water slides, which was expected to be on site not 5 miles away. The photos should be removed because that was very misleading. After missing the caverns my family was looking forward to some pool time after such a hot day. And then we had to settle for corn hole. Other than those let downs the stay was good. Staff was nice and friendly.
