Stoney Calf - Quaint Cottage for two on a working farm
This is a gem of a property, constructed in 2022 in the traditional style of the area and fitted out to a very high standard. Couples will love the views, peace and quiet, and easy access to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, and the coast and woodland delights of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We were blown away by the fabulous views and stunning location of Stoney Calf. It has been designed to be eco-friendly (it is powered entirely by renewable energy), with large windows that flood the cottage with natural light, and it has been designed with comfort in mind. The property comprises a spacious open-plan lounge and kitchen /dining area, a bedroom with a king-size double bed, and a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower.
There is handy parking right outside the front of the property (level access to the property), which must surely be a local contender for the parking area with the best view, an EV charging point powered by renewable energy, a sheltered grassed area to the rear including a small patio area with seating for drinks al fresco, and a wooden summer house.
You will be spoilt for choice for where to walk in this area; from riverside walks in Kirkby Lonsdale to the lesser visited Barbon Fells and Dentdale, to classic walks a little further afield in the Yorkshire Dales (the famous three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside, and Pen-y-ghent are an easy drive away), the Lake District (around 30 minutes drive), Ingleton for the waterfall walk and caves (20 minutes) https://www.ingletonwaterfallstrail.co.uk/, and coast and woodland walks at Arnside (30 minutes). You'll be blessed with dark skies to see the stars in this peaceful countryside location, which is just a 7-minute drive from Kirkby Lonsdale and 25 minutes from the M6.
We highly recommend this property for couples looking for a rural getaway with great views!
ACCOMMODATION SUMMARY All Ground Floor (no steps and tiled throughout): Lounge/kitchen open plan area: Lounge with one reclining two-seater sofa, one reclining easy chair, coffee table, and Smart TV. The kitchen has oak-fitted cupboards, an all-electric oven and induction hob, a microwave, a toaster, and a kettle. The bedroom has a king-size bed, built-in storage, and reading lights. Retractable privacy blinds are fitted to the internal glass windows. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, basin, toilet, and underfloor heating.

THINGS TO NOTE: Private parking for one car with a Monta Charge EV charging point powered by renewable energy (Charges apply). Private garden area with patio and table and chairs. Sorry, dogs aren't permitted due to the working dogs on the farm. Mobile signal is limited, but there is superfast B4RN WiFi throughout and Smart TVs (You will need your own log-in for Netflix, etc). Central heating throughout with double-glazed windows. Beddings and towels are provided. Infants are welcome. However, there is insufficient floor space in the bedroom to accommodate a travel cot and as such, neither a travel to nor a highchair are provided. Summer House for those chillier days.
