"The hotel is rather small (a very good thing for me!), but the room I had was large and the bathroom too. It was modern and very clean, with A/C. It was called Mallus and had a French door to the street which meant I had to have the blind down all the time for privacy, really the only drawback to it all. The breakfast is very good, fresh, and the manager very kind and dedicated. I highly recommend!"

"The hotel was lovely, the staff was so kind and the entire property smelled like orange blossoms from the trees next to the hotel. The provided breakfast buffet was so good and fresh and the staff also offered individual dishes as well as espressos! My only "complaint" would be that the location has very limited restaurants, like only 3 and 2 of them were closed on Mondays! Bring some snacks and you will love the hotel!"

"You simply pay for the views at this hotel. There are no frills outside of that (which was fine for my stay) the rooms had AC which was great. The staff was nice but it seems they were understaffed and simple requests took longer than other hotels I stayed at in Portugal. The buffet breakfast was convenient as there aren’t many food choices in the area to go to. I would go back simply because of the views and the relaxing property!"

"The Vintage House is a beautiful hotel located conveniently on the banks of the Douro River where the tour boats depart. The rooms are very well appointed and the entire hotel ,pool and grounds are wonderfully maintained. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the dining staff on the outdoor terrace provided very attentive service. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the menu for lunch and dinner had a great selection of food & wine. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would highly recommend it to others."

We also had the pleasure of attending the wine and Port tasting, which was such a wonderful experience. The presenter was engaging, passionate, and truly captivating, making the tasting both fun and fascinating. The rooftop terrace and pool were absolutely amazing and felt incredibly luxurious. The breathtaking views made it even more special! We also took some time to enjoy the hotel’s wonderful spa, which offers a wide range of services. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind during our stay. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and offered a great variety of choices. We also took a lovely walk around the property, and the grounds were simply beautiful and peaceful. Every part of our stay was memorable. We highly recommend this hotel and would happily come back again. An absolutely wonderful experience!"

From the moment we arrived, the exceptional hospitality and incredibly helpful staff made us feel entirely at home. The property itself is visually spectacular, offering stunning, postcard ready views from every corner - whether lounging by the pool, dining at the restaurant, or relaxing on your hotel room balcony. The self guided audio walking tours around the vast estate were fantastic, allowing us to discover the historic vineyards at our own pace while stretching our legs. The on site wine tasting was a true highlight, while also having access to a scenic river boat tour right from the estate’s private dock on the river was incredibly convenient. Every morning started with a delicious, high quality, included breakfast spread. The dinners were absolutely awesome, showcasing fresh, flavorful, local dishes. If you are looking for an immersive, deeply relaxing vineyard getaway with world class scenery and top tier service, this property is an absolute dream."
