“The homestay was a good experience in general but was quite far from Cat Ba Town. We were able to hire bicycles and ride to the national park and go hiking but there wasn't anything else that could be accessed without motorised transport. The rooms were ok, but in need of some maintenance. Bathrooms need updating and wallpaper was peeling off the ceilings. There were spiders and a centipede in the room but it was fine once we removed the critters. Lots of farm sounds with roosters, barking dogs……

“Our stay at Flamingo Cát Bà was disappointing and far below expectations. While the location and ocean views are beautiful, poor communication and inconsistent management overshadowed the entire experience. We received conflicting information from staff regarding early check-in and breakfast. We were led to believe an early check-in around 8:00 AM would be available, but that was not the case. We were also told breakfast was included, only to later be informed there would be an additional……

“The hotel aims to be a diverse resort, but the actual management appears chaotic and inefficient. Staff lack proper training in service, hygiene, and English proficiency, and the maintenance of hotel facilities is poor. Overall, the hygiene standards of the rooms and restaurant do not reach five-star levels, and the quality does not match the price. Unfortunately, this is currently the only upscale hotel on the island.”
