Charming 3-bedroom cottage in perfect Trufant

"My family stayed at this cute cottage for 4 nights in late July 2026. We were looking for a peaceful place where we could play in the lake, lounge around, and relax. The lake setup was perfect. We took advantage of the cottage's paddle boat, tube, and pool noodles, and had a great time playing in the lake, which is a quiet cove off of the big lake, so there was very little traffic. The one bummer was that just as we were getting ready to go out to the lake one morning, a boat pulled up, four people came onto the shore and treated the plants along the bank with chemicals, and left a sign saying the water was unsafe for swimming for the next 24 hours. Since our primary goal in renting this cottage was to play in the lake, losing almost half of our lake time was not ideal. The cottage itself was comfortable, very clean, and had everything we needed. The owners have thought of everything! The one problem we had with the house itself was only for the last 12 hours or so. We're pretty sure there was a bat in the walls in the attic where one of my kids was sleeping. She could hear it flapping its wings very near her bed, and in the middle of the night, it screeched (so she moved downstairs to sleep). We only heard this visitor at the very tail end of our visit, so I assume it's not a permanent problem. Overall, our timing wasn't great given the overlap with the chemical treatment and the bat visit, but had these things not happened, the stay would have been perfect!"

"We needed some family time and this cottage was perfect. Everything you could need was already in the cottage. We used the kayaks everyday, The hot tub was so big and clean. We enjoyed the fire pit with provided wood and roasted marshmallows. Inside was modern w WiFi. The town was only about 10 min away. We shopped at Leppinks for groceries, ordered take and bake pizza from Main Street Pizza, had ice cream at Aunt Zann’s, and ate breakfast at McKenna’s. All the people we so nice. Frank and Kaylee were great hosts and very easy to communicate with!"

"The lake house is a perfect getaway for a family retreat. The home is roomy has everything you would expect for a 5 star VBRO rental. The beach is perfect for small children and easily accessible from the home. Abundant water toys for floating and kayaking. We had a pontoon boat delivered and the dock was perfect for loading the boat. We also held a wedding on the decks and it was ideal."

"The views are amazing. The fishing is top notch. The house is perfect! We stayed with our adult children. The layout was great for privacy as well as togetherness. There was always something to do... or nothing if we wanted! From time on the water to puzzles and games indoor, we made so many memories. Sue was very responsive and helpful. The home had everything we needed and then some. Highly recommend choosing this place for your stay. You will not regret it! Clean, comfortable, relaxing. Five stars!"

"A great gathering space for our extended family of 12 -comfortable and accommodating space for 4 individual families. Spent a relaxing week sharing meals on the inviting deck, playing soccer and baseball in the large back lot, making sandcastles, paddle boarding and kayaking, and quiet time on the dock. A unexpected discovery was Rockford, a quintessential lake town just 30 minutes from rental house. Nature trails, great food, ice cream, shopping and an arcade. Good break from the lake and sun."
