Central United States B&B

The Gateway Arch, or the St. Luis arch to the West. Part of the Jefferson National Memorial. The observation deck is 630 feet up and is the tallest manmade monument in the United States. It opened in 1967 and you could either walk to the top or take a very interesting elevator to the top, small capsules that fit five people and zig zag their way to the top in four minutes. As I drove into St. Luis it can be seen above the horizon and because it is stainless steel shines bright as you come in. To anyone who can, I would say go, Seeing it in person it is immense! When seeing it form a distance it doesn't really look that big, but up close, looking straight up to the top it is incredible!

"Beautiful Inn! New ownership may be still be working out some details. Ammenities listed for our suite were not completely accurate. While having a private bath - I am also glad to not be shy with my husband. We could maintain eye contact and conversation at ALL times. ( I did peek in other rooms and this is not always the case ..) ( We had the jockey suite ) A curtain should also be added in this room for a touch more privacy. There is a window looking into the main house that let much light in...

"This place is the filthiest hotel i have ever been. The head board had stains on it. Chair was old bathroom looks hideous carpet stinks. It was a horrible experience. I checked out right away went to aloft"

"Hotel was clean and well staffed. Very friendly and accommodating. Our AC was not working properly and was not fixed the first attempt. It was fixed on day 2 after we requested a second service call. There were no sheets for the pull out bed but the housekeeper i passed in the hallway promptly brought is a set. Extra towels were delivered upon request. Other than these hiccups, we were pleased with our stay. Great location. Walking distance to everything. Great oysters in the restaurant. "
