"What a fabulous hotel is the Pakbeng Sanctuary Lodge. A stunning view over the Mekong River, beautiful rooms and a lovely bar/ restaurant. There are 2 areas, the lower with superior rooms, a restaurant and swimming pool, and the upper with deluxe rooms and suites, also with a separate restaurant. We were upgraded to a suite and it was luxurious. The food is lovely and the drinks cold. The included breakfast was tasty."

"This place is very run down and not cared for very much. The bed was comfortable but the rest of the room was bad. There were cob webs all over the place and a huge layer of dust on the cabinets. When I woke in the morning, the water had been shut off so I had to walk down 3 floors to get them to turn it back on so I could shower. After one night, I cancelled the remaining nights and went elsewhere."

"The rooms were big and had everything you need. Nice views too and lovely pool. The food was basic in the restaurant but it’s probably no different to any food you would get in the area. If it was served hot it would be a huge improvement. We skipped breakfast to avoid further disappointment so they gave us a packed breakfast to take on the boat, not great food but great that they made the effort. It felt a bit overpriced for the area. "
