The TV in our room never worked properly. I told the front desk the first day and asked again. No one ever came to check the TV. It was out of focus.
Also, the site advertised free breakfast and a pool; there was no breakfast at all… not even coffee in lobby and the pool was drained.
The staff did not offer alternatives to breakfast even though there was a place attached to one part of the hotel. I thought it was closed.
My room was clean but the stairs and outside was not swept and sloppy.
Location was the only plus. I will never stay there again.

Overall a positive experience
Location was perfect! Parking was convenient but I had to pay which I feel should be part of the cost for staying there. Although I’m not familiar with how parking works in Charleston. The room was clean but the pillows were very small and there were only 3 per bed which isn’t enough for 2 people. The toilet did not flush well and the bathroom was very old and showed a lot of wear. Overall, it was a good value and I would definitely stay there again if/when I travel back to Charleston.
Sorry to say the hotel was closing the day after we left. It was a great value thru hotels.com and we reserved it last minute after our more expensive hotel up the street did nothing about the broken television in our room. Would stay here again!
The location is excellent however the hotel has not been maintained. The room door did not fit properly, the bathroom was dirty, especially where the toilet and bathtub were located. The shower curtain was covered in mold.

It says on Expedia that you get breakfast-you don’t. You have to pay to park. There were pubic hairs on the floor in the bathroom. The staff was very kind though.

Loved the location. So convenient. Plenty of towels for our 2 night stay. I also liked the nightlight on the hair dryer!
Curtains at outside window wasn’t wide enough to cover window. Very expensive for no amenities such as breakfast or dinner. Room was adequate but had to pay over $200per room plus $20 parking outside our door. Old motel which needs lots of work for the value.

The location is excellent, right in the middle of lots of shopping and restaurants in the heart of the city. Parking is super easy and the beds are comfy. The room itself is pretty run down and so is the hotel but you won’t find a better location for the price.
This hotel is in need of some improvements. The pictures of the lobby give you the impression it is well taken care of, this I’m not the case. The walls are dirty and banged up. It could use a deep cleaning and some upgrades. Our toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall, the wall was chipping. The carpet was “dingey”. Everything felt damp, like when camping in a tent. We were also charged extra after we returned home, though this is supposed to be refunded.
Beds were worped and uncomfortable. Outside noise easily hear inside the room.

We loved the location of this property. It's right in the heart of French Quarter and all it's restaurants, bars and historic places. Even the waterfront is a short walk. The woman at the front desk at our check in wasn't very friendly and as they don't do room cleaning anymore due to Covid we had virtually no other interaction with staff other than to say hello to an employee in passing.
The room for the most part was clean and comfortable however the shower in the bathroom was disgusting. Black hairs everywhere which normally don't bother me but there were so many it was very clear the shower area hadn't been touched before our arrival. That being said, no one can find help these days, never mind good help so we just overlooked it, though my wife may have just thought they were mine and not even noticed.
Overall, good bang for the buck and I will definitely stay again when returning to Charleston.
We booked this property because of it’s fantastic location. You can park the car for the weekend and walk everywhere as you’re in the heart of historic Charleston. The hotel itself is a dump. The beds were comfortable but that is the only thing positive. No maid service, a drained pool, no ice, water damage on the ceiling, and we had to get up several times during the night to empty the dehumidifier. It cost us $580 for 2 nights and would have cost us less than $200 if it were located in any other city. I recently found out this property has been sold and is closing soon. That’s why none of the employees care. They never should have charged those rates for a sub-par experience. Maybe the new owners will turn it around.
Full well knowing the property was not an upper level experience I was prepared but when the door opened into the room there was a dingy feeling. As I walked toward the sink area there were stains all over the sink as I went into the bathroom area there were stains all over the tub and tape on the tub where you step in. After further investigation I found The dirt was for stains and burns that would not come out so it had been cleaned but honestly it was badly difficult. The people at the site were more than pleasant all the time
We reserved 2 rooms and when we got there, I showed my reservation and was told that they only had us for one room and could not make it right because they were booked. We got to the room and it was moldy and there was a dirty small wireless speaker that looked like a roach motel can on the floor next to the bed. We immediately booked another place and cancelled our reservation. I totally regret not taking pictures.
I travel quite a lot and i stayed in some 2 to 3 stars hotel, but days inn is the worst. I cannot find any pleasant words to describe it. The place is horrible, terrible, dirty and everything is just so wrong. I will not ever, ever recommend it to anyone or even to my worst enemies. It needs a super major renovations, better yet, demolish it and build a new one.
Expedia should know better. I dont understand why you still recommend it.
Its super terrible.
