The Sleepy Shack - Private, Cozy Cottage for your next getaway!

Come enjoy some peace and quiet in this private, simple (yet comfortable) cottage located under the Oak trees of Johns Island. 20 minutes from Downtown Charleston, Folly Beach, and Kiawah. Enjoy a fire in the fire pit, heat up the grill for some fresh seafood or take a hot shower under the stars! (Just to be clear, there is also a very nice interior shower!)

The Sleepy Shack is private, comfortable, and clean! The studio apartment is ideal for two tenants. Three can easily fit in this 500 square foot cabin if one person doesn't mind the sleeping on the couch.

The rear porch is private and guests have their own separate outdoor area with a fire bowl and grill.

The Sleepy Shack is within walking distance to Low Tide Brewery and a very close drive to other various dining options. Catch a movie at the Terrace Theater or enjoy some live music at The Pour House (within 5 miles).

Come explore Johns Island - The Vineyard, Sweet Water Distillery, the Tea Plantation, Angel Oak, the Johns Island Farmers Market. Johns Island is also ideal for those who wish to enjoy distance biking through the oak trees, rivers and marshes of this rural (yet convenient) area. The wide, quiet beaches of Kiawah are just a scenic drive down the way.

Or hop over to neighboring James Island to enjoy the fun and sun of Folly Beach. Check out the fishing and surfing at the pier, or relax in the tidal pools, or shop and dine on the main drag. Grab some fresh Seafood from Crosby's or Huff's and bring it back to cook on the grill!

James Island County park is about 7 minutes from the cottage and offers scenic bike and walking trails as well as climbing wall and other great opportunities for fun with the kids!

20 minutes from the heart of Downtown Charleston! Knock the sand off your flip flops and head downtown where you can enjoy extensive history, culture and (definitely) food options! A beautiful place the visit - there are Harbor Tours, Carriage Rides, Ghost Tours, The Market, Water Front Park, Marion Square and an unending assortment of dining options to explore!

What a great place to stay! Cava was amazing and made our stay even better (even let us play with the dog!) The location was great for seeing many different sites in the area, from downtown Charleston to the beaches and plantations. Definitely a must stay location!

Helene weekend in Charleston!

The description of the property was perfect - Clean, comfortable and very convenient to my activities. Easy getting in upon arrival and Cava and her family were fantastic (even when we lost power during the Hurricane). Very private and safe and I plan on staying there again!

Perfect for a short stay while visiting my daughter at College of Charleston. Wish I could have stayed longer! Peaceful and cozy with everything I needed to be comfortable. Took the opportunity to go visit the Angel Oak nearby and 20 minute drive to my daughter at school. Host was lovely and communicated well to make sure we were settled in.

Perfect little rustic place

This cute little place was just far enough away to get us away from crazy city life but just close enough that we were within a 30 min drive from everything we wanted to see and do. Cava was a wonderful host and was so friendly and willing to help if we needed it. We enjoyed staying at this little sleep shack. We hope to one day come back again.

Just What Was Promised!

We had a lovely stay while visiting our grandchildren on the island. Great location, gracious hosts, and comfortable space for two. One suggestion to the owner is that they consider putting safety bars in the shower, particularly for retirees (like us!) There's a good chance we'll be back!

Perfect Hideaway

We loved our shack! Very quiet neighborhood. The outdoor shower was great! The host Cava and Billy are the best. Folly Beach is a 20 minute drive away and what a great beach it is. Exploring Charleston was wonderful. We will be back to the Shack! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Quick weekend stay

The cozy shack is exactly as it states and appears, the host is super sweet. I was in town for a wedding so didn’t spend much time at the house but I am so very glad I chose this location. Easy to get to and close to anything needed. Will definitely book again if I am back in the area.

Lovely little bungalow

It's in a quiet neighborhood and is secluded at the back of the owner's property. The furnishings are comfortable and the coffee maker was a life saver for us! I really loved the outdoor space with the fire pit. We were there over Thanksgiving so we enjoyed seeing our family during the day and being able to escape to our own space for the night. 10 thumbs up!

1st time ever VRBO stay

Cava, the owner, welcomed us and gave us a tour of the cozy little cottage. We so enjoyed the history behind it! (To find out more about the history, please consider this for your next stay @ VRBO) She then left us with assurance that should we need anything, to just text her. This was our first such place to stay and we are looking forward to another such stay in the future!
