"What a beautiful Art Deco property!!! Madame Florence is the consumate hostess - kind and welcoming. Her breakfast was delicious. Her property lovely and lovingly maintained, We could not have had a more pleasant stay.

"The first night we stayed we would award top marks, but on or return 4 days later the second room was not as good. It was not as clean, the shower screen support was loose, the tv was hanging and not working properly. The furniture on the terrace was very dirty, we cleaned it before we could sit down. "This hotel surpassed our expectations. We had read good reviews, particularly of the service, but we were not prepared for such a wonderful welcome. We arrived a little early but Christophe immediately went to see if the room could be prepared for us as soon as possible and gave us a very welcome coffee while we waited.
This set the tone for our stay. Christophe and Pierre Louis were friendly, helpful and available for advice, information and help whenever needed.
The hotel is a walk of less than 15 minutes from the station, and has a wonderful location right opposite the castle. The view from our room was amazing.
The entrance is via a keypad on a door next to the cafe which leads straight to the stairs and the rooms. There is no lift as such but there is a luggage lift so no need to carry suitcases up the stairs.
The cafe which is part of the hotel is frequented by locals, always a good sign. It's well worth taking the continental breakfast here, with as much delicious coffee as you want, and a good choice of food including baguettes and mouthwatering croissants fresh from the boulangerie right next door. Good value for money at 11 Euros each.
Our room was not particularly plush, but warm and comfortable with a good size bathroom, perfect for what we needed.
We plan to return to Angers to explore the area further and will certainly stay at the Marguerite d'Anjou next time we visit. "
