Charming Cottage

Charming North Shore duplex
Located on the North Shore neighborhood of Chattanooga, this property has everything you need for a pleasant stay. It was neat, clean, and comfortable. Great restaurants and parks are just a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Quaint duplex cottage in gentrifying neighborhood.
This is a small duplex cottage that works very well for a couple. It was thoughtfully and tastefully furnished, and we found it quite comfortable. I was not wild about the "On-Street" parking but it turned out fine, mostly because the alley in front of the property is considerably wider than it is up the street... where it is barely wide enough for a single vehicle to pass. We had one of the two units in the building.. one bedroom, a small kitchen, nice bathroom, and a comfortable living room. The hardwired smoke detector in the bedroom was MISSING from its mount so there was no smoke detector in the unit. I don't know TN laws but I suspect it is not legal to lease an accommodation without a working smoke detector in the unit. This should be addressed Immediately. Otherwise, the owners did a nice job of providing a comfortable and thoughtful accommodation. There is a large gap under the front door which admits a lot of outside air. In cold months, this might make the unit uncomfortable.

The Hooch Regatta
Fabulous place! We stayed here for the Head of the Hooch race and to visit my son at UTC. We were able to walk to the waterfront fairly easily. Cottage was very clean, king bed comfy and a great shower with hot water and good pressure. TV worked great. These are all things you don’t always get with a VRBO. We will definitely stay here when we come back!

A great short-term stay
The house is very pretty and nicely furnished. Top-notch sheets, couch pillows, etc. Kitchen knives, pots, clean refrigerator. Rapid responses to questions. A great place to stay the next time we're in Chattanooga. The neighborhood is on a hill with lots of curves. I turned on a blind corner to the main road and was faced with a car coming at me at 35-40 mph...thankfully we both had good brakes.

I travel to this area often. Very pleased with my stay & interaction with the host. The cottage was clean, cozy & had all the little things that make a difference. WiFi, coffee, plenty of towels..... I will stay here again in the future.

Elegant, convenient, and relaxing.
We were in Chattanooga to attend an art show and enjoy the city. The home is convenient to downtown attractions, and there are shops and restaurants within walking distance. Ellie has decorated well, creating a beautiful and functional space. We look forward to returning again.

Great property...again!
This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and it was just as the first...wonderful. Such a great little cottage...just right for a single or a couple. Easy access to downtown and the freeway. The neighborhood is quiet and quite safe. We'll stay here again and again!

Location Location
This was a great stay in Chattanooga! The property in located in a very central area from which you can access most of all of Chatt within 10-15 minutes tops! The bed slept great and the linens were wonderful. A few more items such as measuring cups, an iron, and ironing board would be the only things missing in our opinions. The property did have a slight “older home” smell when we arrived, but we bought a couple candles, and, after cracking the windows, the unit was well aired out. That said, we would absolutely stay again!!

Great place to explore Chattanooga from
The rental was in great shape, and was as described. It was a nice 30 min walk to get down to the pedestrian bridge to downtown. The kitchen was stocked with basic equipment that was good shape. Overall, a nice experience.

This was a fantastic place to stay!
This was our first place we stayed at through Vrbo and we absolutely loved it! The location was perfect. Fantastic restaurants in walking distance and a great location to visit the Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain. The building was immaculate and we enjoyed the artwork and color choices...we are now talking about redoing a room in similar colors. I would recommend this site to anyone!

Ellie’s cottage is always perfect for my Chatt visits ! Friendly neighborhood - fun restaurants so close by and zip to any area quickly. Chattanooga Weekend Visit
Overall, the stay was very good. Proximity to attractions was convenient. Although the shower is large, the bathroom is very small. It is difficult to get ready at the mirror because the door opens into the tiny area. An additional mirror somewhere in the house as an alternative dressing area would be helpful. Footstools for the couch or chair would also be helpful for comfort.

Comfy Cottage/Great Location
This cottage was the perfect location near all the Chattanooga attractions downtown. We really loved the coziness and cleanliness. Nice, comfy king sized bed, nice bathroom, and it was a plus that there was a washer and dryer so we won’t have as much laundry to do when we get home. This was a perfect baby-moon stay for us and we loved that short drive to every place and restaurant we visited. Quiet neighborhood. Great house. Mrs. Judy was easy to communicate with. Sweet little cottage we really enjoyed!

Comfortable, clean, and close to everything.
When we walked in, the house looked and smelled fresh and clean. The bed and sofa were comfy places to collapse after long days of exploring Chattanooga. Plenty of storage space. Great shower. We will stay here again when we return to Chattanooga.

Perfect in every way !
I so enjoyed my two nights that turned into four night stay at Ellie's Cottage. Judy was available for any reason ( extended my stay ) , has a relative near the property and was perfect in communications. The cottage is so amazingly well done and impeccably clean. The bed was super comfy , even the sheets were crisp and felt great. I walked in the neighborhood, chatted with some of the neighbors and the proximity to downtown was ideal. The cottage has a little "bistro' area for outside happy hour / dining and it is adorable - the patio lights come on with a timer and it is charming. Thanks Judy for a wonderful stay - When I am back in Chatt, I hope to get to stay with you !!

Quiet getaway.

Wonderful getaway
My husband and I wanted a Valentine’s getaway and this was the perfect retreat! Settled in North Chattanooga, we could get anywhere in the city within 5-8 minutes of driving. There are some cute shops/restaurants within walking distance. The place was super clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. There were other renters in the next door complex, but we didn’t hear them once. We’d definitely come here again!

Delightful Stay
The small property was everything my husband and I were looking to enjoy. It was clean. Well appointed. The kitchen had enough supplies to accommodate a short stay. There was a small issue with the internet. I contacted Judy. It was resolved very quickly. So the internet is really a not something to be concerned about. Overall a very nice stay.

Cozy Couples Retreat on 'Nooga North Shore!
Love, love , love this place! My wife and I were on a mission to scope out Chattanooga to possibly relocate. Ellie's Cottage was a great launching point. Perfect location in an established neighborhood on North Shore. Easy access to Riverwalk, Aquarium, Ruby Falls, and downtown Chattanooga. We walked to Clumpies for cream twice! We experienced 3 great places to eat within 2 blocks. Tremont Tavern: BEST burgers, Il Primo: Italian, and La Margaritas: yummy Mexican. Now the place: Clean, clean, clean! Judy clearly takes pride in this place. Comfy family room, small kitchen, with fridge, stove, and Judy supplies all cooking utensils, coffee, cream, and basic seasonings. Storage in kitchen very smart for a rental: big open cabinet above the counters. Also loved the historic artwork celebrating the history of Tennessee. Bedroom: plenty big enough for the REALLY comfortable king-sized bed, and lots of pillows! (at my age, I sleep with 4!) Nice bathroom with BIG tiled shower...love not being cramped in a shower. Good water pressure too...which is key! Love the soaps and shampoos supplied. Environmentally friendly and smelled good. Personal shoutout to both Judy and her niece Sara. Upon arrival, there were issues with the internet (not their fault) which was promptly corrected by Sara contacting ISP who fixed problem right away. Internet was really fast too! Loved this place. But don't book it before I do when we come back for our second visit!!!
