I chose Stardust because it was close to the venue I was going to for a wedding reception, there were also plenty of food places within a couple miles of the property, check in was very easy and check out was even easier, I think if I come back to the area I would choose to stay again.

The bathroom was clean and the room tidy...and most of all ~ NO STRONG SMELLS! There were plenty of outlets for charging. The street out front was fairly busy, but the room was quiet. The mattress was comfy. I had to ask for a blow dryer and got one right away. The air conditioning works, but not necessary in the cooler months when I visited. I mainly chose this motel for it's location close enough to the Metra station (walkable or a cheap Uber ride). No pool or a gym at this affordable price. Although they furnish coffee in the front reception I preferred to walk a couple of blocks for a latte and pastry at the nearby Peets. They provide a microwave and a small refrigerator, which came in handy.

Everything looked excellent if not for the horrible smoking odor. Just as I requested, I was told at checkin that I was assigned a no smoking room. But alas for the heavy smoke smell. It was so strong that I had to protect myself with masks. By the time of my departure after just one night, my devices and items wore terrible smelling. At checkout I reported the horrible smoking issues and was told that it must have been the last user. I wonder why the room was not inspected prior to assigning it to me

This was definite NOT an 8.4 star rated motel! It was out-dated and dingy. It just didn't feel clean. The staff was pleasant, but the cigarette smell in the office was terrible.
