Have stayed here several times
Quiet, peaceful, scenic, relaxing. We love to fish, and this place has a great double decker dock in about 25-30 feet of water with structure underneath it. We caught lots of catfish, crappie, bass, and gar underneath the dock. Not far from the marina, which is very convenient for supplies, boat rentals, etc. House is quaint with a good room for kiddos with bunk beds. Honestly we’re on the lake most of the time because it’s really pretty out there. I’ve This place is a great getaway, and easy to get to from DFW.
Nice lake cabin. Missing basic amenities like
Shower supplies
Hair dryer
Trash bags
Foil/parchment paper
Only 2 wine glasses
Water pressure was really low and not enough hot water for everyone staying.
The lock on the pump house wouldn’t lock.
Missing an electric kettle.
The listing shows WiFi is available and further down unavailable.

Great family vacation
All in all we had a great time. The indoor and outdoor space is great. The only complaint was that the tv and dvd player in the bunk room did not work so kids were disappointed they couldn’t watch movies during down time. Fishing was great and easy access to the main part of the lake.
This was a spur of the moment trip for me and my family to celebrate my 40th as the lake we normally boat on was flooded and I can't tell you how happy we are that we found this home. The home was very charming and accommodated everyone quite comfortably. The host was always quick to text me back if we had any questions and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We spent most of our time boating on gorgeous Lake Bridgeport but when we were at the cabin we found plenty of games and things to do. Yes, there's no WiFi or cellular signal but honestly, that was also a hidden blessing! We will definitely be back again next year!
We were looking for a fun place to stay for a girls weekend away and this fit the bill! The house was pretty clean. Downstairs there is a full-size bed across the hall from a full bath. Upstairs there is one full-size bath. There are two bedrooms with full beds (one has a twin daybed). and then there is a bunk room with a total of five twin size beds. So there are plenty of places to sleep!
The kitchen was pretty well-stocked for a rental property. The one thing that was lacking was that the icemaker did not work, and there was no blender. We had planned on making frozen margaritas one night. Also, there is not a dishwasher so consider that and taking paper plates and plastic utensils for less cleanup. There were tons of dishes, not a whole lot of glasses though.
The view was great! It is a steep walk down to the dock. The lights on the dock were not working, or at least we could not figure out how to make them come on. The campfire area had four seats, we wished there were two more for our group of six adults. But there was plenty of firewood cut and ready to use which we appreciated. Also the gas grill had plenty of propane takes for back up which is not always included in rentals so we also liked that.
The surrounding area is a little mismatched. On one side you have a very nice brick home, and on the other side you have a run down trailer home. We never saw anybody around though.
Another thing is when you are leaving there is a list of things that need to be done upon exit. Stripping beds, washing dishes, taking out trash and bringing towels to the laundry room. Not super difficult to do, but it doesn’t make sense to have to do these things when there is a cleaning fee.
Overall, a wonderful experience and would go back.
Had a great relaxing time with friends I haven’t been able to see in years.

Quaint house on Lake Bridgeport
I own a home on Lake Bridgeport that is currently being redone. For the family holiday, we rented this home to be with the rest of our family. If you choose to come to Lake Bridgeport for vacation, be sure to thoroughly read all of the comments on this property as I found them to be very accurate. The home was clean (unlike some reviews found) and looked like the pictures. It does sleep 12-13 comfortably. The surrounding area is eclectic, at best, with some beautiful homes and some run down homes. Of particular note, this property is quite a distance off of the main road so count that into your travel time. The dock is incredibly steep path and leaving your boat in the slip is available but the waters are rocky and beat our boat up. Although this house advertises housing many people, the kitchen is not up to the task of cooking for all of those people. Pots and pans, cooking utensils etc. are not sufficient to cook for many people. In addition, I had to buy things like sharp knives, ziploc bags, trash bags, aluminum foil, basic condiments/spices etc. I also have rental property and I realize that owners do not have to provide these items; however, it should be made clear to renters that you will have to buy or bring these items with you. Additionally, there is NO dishwasher which seems crazy given the nightly price. All in all, very disappointed with the kitchen and future renters should be prepared. My family had a nice time but I think that the owners could make some improvements that would make a nicer time for all —
We had a great weekend at this lake house. The ambiance was great for the property itself. It was obvious the owners put effort into making it feel like a cabin. The neighborhood was a little rough around the edges, but I guess that's expected at a rural lake house. We had lots of little kids with us and they had a blast and didn't break anything so the house is pretty sturdy.
Some of the past reviews talked about cleanliness... The linens were clean and the house overall was decently clean. There were a few untidy cupboards but I felt comfortable staying there. There were plenty of linens, towels, pillows etc. and we all slept comfortably. We especially liked the fun bunk beds. The best amenity was the doc access. The lights at the top of the doc with the picnic table were a nice touch. We also used the outdoor fire place multiple times. Thanks for sharing this fun lake house with us!
My family did have a good time don’t get me wrong and the house is lovely. I was disappointed that I had to spend my first day cleaning before everyone else showed. There was beer cans in fire pit and at the fish cleaning station. I don’t think the dock has been cleaned in awhile, my kids and I went to eat sandwiches on the top deck when we got there and the tables had not been wiped off in some time. I also wish they would have explained that the dock was a bit down from the house and that it is a uneven steep walk. My grandparents couldn’t make it up and down. There is no privacy in the back yard either, it is not fenced in. Also when I went to clean off the dirty patio furniture the water hose or any of the spouts outside do not work. The ice maker also does not work and the kitchen utensils are few and far between, and very unorganized. But non the less my family and I made the best of it.
It was awesome. The kids had a blast. That’s what we do for them ages are 13-11-9-4-4-2. They all loved it.

Somewhere between 3-4 stars..
Pros:
The cabin was cute.. a lot smaller than the pictures made it appear, but still cute and cozy.. served its purpose for sure, which was a meeting spot for family to spend time together. The dock was super nice, and a fun place to hang out, as was the fire pit area.
Cons:
If you are planning to eat in all weekend, bring paper plates, bowls, cups, silverware as there is no dishwasher and we spent a ton of time washing dishes (required by owner at checkout).. I understand not having a dishwasher, and I understand requiring some cleanup before checking out, just was a pain for our family who cooked all meals in the home.. so just notable if you plan on cooking there.
I question the attention to detail when cleaning... We found a sock and chapstick in our bedding, a sock in another room and candy wrappers under our bed.. nothing horrible, but something they could improve on for sure..
The water in the upstairs shower hardly had pressure AT ALL. We all ended up using the downstairs shower which was much better.. nothing we couldn't handle for a short weekend, but an annoyance for sure.
While the owners likely have no control of the homes surroundings, it is something to note.. there was a stray dog wandering.. which is probably fine other than we did have a baby and small child with us playing outside... Made this momma a little uneasy.. and then what appeared to be an RV park situation next door with a giant dog pen.. one night, only the one, we heard a ton of barking around 230 am followed by people yelling at them.. wouldn't have been a huge problem but we had an infant sleeping... So that wasn't as fun for us. Not to mention, to the right of the house looked a little.. junky... I guess would be the appropriate term... but the other side had very nice, well kept homes.. there is a trailer home basically in the backyard of the home, stones throw from the back door, the occupants weren't bothersome at all, but again, notable.
We made great memories and spent some much needed time with family, the house served its purpose and was cute and cozy.. all of my 'cons' are simply notable items, things I would have liked to know ahead of our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. The lodge and view was beautiful. It wasn't as clean as expected, and the linen wasn't fresh. And expect not to have signal so screenshot all info.. But overall the place was great and neighborhood very friendly!

Not Great Experience
Great View of the lake. They have lot of cleaning supplies, flatware and kitchen stuff.Fire pit was great.
This house needs a deep clean you see cobwebs everywhere and dusty curtains. Back yard furniture was so dusty which is common, but the backyard hose was not working we have to wipe down the whole furniture to use.Grill was not cleaned properly ,guests before us left meat pieces in it.There are so many dogs in the neighborhood which bark consistently in the nights too,If you leave the door open they come inside. On top of these both the bathroom showers were not working one was broken and the other was not draining water, we tried to reach them but no response till date.Good it was only 2 day trip for us.Wish there was a dishwasher so the cooking stuff will be sanitized properly. On the whole we spent good time with friends but had an unpleasant experience in the house.
The lakehouse had everything we needed for a party of 10! Plenty of covers and stuff to keep you warm. We loved lighting a fire outside and in the fireplace. No WiFi but we enjoyed our stay.
The only thing to be aware of are the neighbors dogs (there are a few of them) that bark pretty consistently. There’s also a friendly dog and cat that walk around, but it’s the country so that’s to be expected.
The view was great - you’re right on the lake with access to a dock! Make sure to bring water and ice because there’s none. They provided plenty of tableware so you don’t need to bring any. They also had cleaning supplies which was nice.
Important to note that if you’re not into hunting or seeing animal trophies, there are lots of those everywhere. Just something to keep in mind in case you or a guest is vegan. Other than that the place was great, the people were friendly and we had an awesome weekend!!

Good but bizarre
Awesome house and boat dock, however very strange that neighbors in the trailer next door were constantly in the backyard. There were a ton of barking dogs that would wake us up daily which was annoying. The house needs a deep clean, con webs all over.
