I wanted to love this hotel but unfortunately, I have to write this review instead because of the way our situation was handled by management. Warning! room 1 does not have hot water!! We specifically booked this hotel because we had confirmed that it had hot water in the rooms & ours did not. Long story short there was a lot of back and forth on whatsapp with management & no solution. He offered to let us "borrow" a shower 1 day out of 5 which was obviously not acceptable. we offered to move rooms and they didn't have any. the manager was rude and was extremely defensive putting blame on us, expedia. anyone he could think of instead of the hotel. he never came to meet us face to face. Was told we would be refunded if we found a new hotel, when i found one he backtracked and refused to refund. We ended up checking out mid trip to go stay at Mirasurf hotel (highly recommend you stay there! the staff and hotel were 5 stars!) While El Xalli pool deck is beautiful & instagrammable, the road below is a major highway and is extremely loud with trucks passing by constantly. not walkable at all. The woman bartender was great but the other staff ignored us (I'm assuming because of our complaint) I wish I could give extensive details but it only allows so many characters. My husband and I travel a lot all over the world and I have never left a hotel mid trip. So disappointing. Hopefully they use this as a tool to learn rather than be so defensive & blaming the guests
