Chino Spa Hotel

"If you're looking for an onsen experience this is the place! We were welcomed as we drove up the windy mountain road to the hotel. The check in experience was calm and efficient. Dinner, breakfast and private bath times chosen. The baths are wonderfull, overlooking the river and with views down the forested valley. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, although our kids sadly didn't feel adventurous enough. It was a truly magical experience on our first trip to Japan."

"This was my first Ryokan experience, and it was incredible. Shinkai used Lake Suwa as the inspiration for Tomorrow in Your Name. As a huge fan of the film, I wanted to visit Suwa to see the place for myself, and wanted to do it while staying at a Ryokan. Shinyu offered a room with a lake view, so it sounded perfect. "The room was very clean and well-organized. Didn't have our room cleaned daily but did get daily towel change, which was very easily arranged. The onsen was great...quiet, clean, rarely crowded with both an indoor and outdoor tub."

"Nice hotel we used the Japanese style room with futon and in room shower. My GF had her period so it was good she didn’t need to use the onsen. Room was nice and big and very close to Matsumoto castle. Only thing I was disappointed was parking fee. It’s far from tokyo so I assume many would drive if not train so I was surprised to charged extra for the overnight parking. "
