「Beautiful setting, very friendly proprietor 」

「Staff rude unhelpful, room dirty and run down not even a fridge or air con stay in travelodge much better」

「It was absolutely unbearable in the room as there was no aircon and we were given one fan that barely did anything. We couldn’t sleep at all due to the heat. We also had 2 rooms so my daughter’s room was even worse as that had no fan! If a hotel has no aircon, maybe state that in the advert」

「We stayed here while at the State Fayre festival and will definitely stay here again if there is another festival next year. Friendly staff, lovely gardens and comfortable rooms (although air conditioning would’ve been nice during the heatwave!) Only suggestion would be: upgrade the toiletries in the rooms please. Two tiny watery bottles is not enough!」

「The Green Man is a lovely place to stay, nicely decorated and clean, comfortable rooms. The beer garden is an added gem in the summer months. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Our only complaint was that there were insufficient staff in the bar and restaurant to cope with high demand at the weekend. I however would definitely recommend the Green Man and will look forward to my next stay.」

「Perfect place to stay overnight before a flight from Stansted. Lots of choice for your help yourself breakfast. Wasn’t made aware that you could leave your car there and take a taxi to the airport. Would have definitely saved some money. Maybe this could be highlighted more.」

「This hotel just scraped into 'Okay'. Modern enough property but running on minimum staff. Sometimes Reception unattended ('due to fire walk'). We discovered as we were leaving for an engagement that in fact our hotel door did not lock. (Going in we used the key and it opened but in fact it was open anyway. Only on leaving as we checked the handle was this obvious). Reception shrugged it off. No maintenance people on site. Only choice was to change rooms which meant moving everything down the...

「Hi arrived around 2 30am, no-one was about , other than a guest waitfor towels for the room, whe we got to the room it had no toilet paper or towels, we had a drink, but again no spoons, the bed was very cheap and lumpy and hard. We had to sleep with the window open, because of the heat ,the road was very loud. The window had a broken safety catch, so a child could fall out, the bed was under the window, the room looked to have been made up to a third word standard, I think it's owners...
