"The staff seemed rather dismissive, and while breakfast was acceptable, the overall service was quite poor. I had requested a non-smoking room, but was assigned one that strongly smelled of cigarettes. When I returned to the front desk to express my concerns, the staff, with a stern expression, informed me that they would move me to a non-smoking room but warned me of a million rupiah charge if I were to smoke. I reiterated that I do not smoke, which was precisely why I had requested a non-smoking room. This was an unpleasant beginning to my stay."

"The Anara was perfect for us, waiting for a connecting flight the next day. We got a two-room suite (the price was right!) and relaxed with space to rest and repack. Clean and comfortable. It's not the Four Seasons, but it's very good for what it is. The staff were very nice and very helpful. The restaurant has breakfast buffet, and we had a surprisingly tasty dinner there. Not sophisticated cuisine naturally, but friendly staff and well-spiced food (and cold beer!) The only suggestion we have is that the signage in the (enormous) terminal showing how to get to the Anara is inadequate. We had to ask directions several times. But I would guess that isn't controlled by Anara! I'd recommend using the Anara if you're making an overly tight or overnight connection at Jakarta!"

"The hotel looks neat, the lobby is tidy, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is reasonable. I know you can't expect much from a two-star hotel, but in this case, the hygiene of the room left much to be desired. The bathroom was filthy and had mold everywhere. After showering, the drain started to stink. This sewer smell lingered all night. We were planning to stay longer if the hotel had been satisfactory. I am aware that you cannot expect much from a 2-star hotel, but at least a little bit of hygiene would be nice."
