Relaxing Memorial Day Stay

We arrived later than planned due to bad weather and a change of route. We didn't get to explore the are on that evening, but enjoyed hanging out in the cabin looking out at the horses. The cabin was very clean and had all the kitchen utilities you would need to cook a meal. The day after we woke up to a lovely sunny day and walked around the property with our dogs, checked out the river and then checked-out to go hiking which was really close. We had a great stay and would love to come back for a longer stay!

Great stay!

My boyfriend, dog and I loved staying here. It is only 25 min. outside of Steamboat but well worth the drive if you just want to get away. Also, you should call them directly to make the reservation since it is a small business and will match expeida's price. Overall, a great inexpensive place to stay with great owners.

Quiet Guest Ranch with great activities

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was warm and cozy surrounded by about four feet of snow. A snowshoe hike in the afternoon was a great appetite builder. Lots of opportunities for cross country skiing, fishing, and Horseback riding (in summer). The owners have great plans and are working to build a wonderful experience for their guests.

A fantastic getaway

We had a wonderful time, The Elk River Guest Ranch is the place that you want to go to get away from everything. We had a very peaceful stay, the Aspen cabin was cozy and comfortable. We are planning to go back sometime in the Spring, or Fall, just to see the land without several feet of snow covering the ground. Overall it was a perfect choice for a little peace and quiet

Excellent little getaway

Very friendly atmosphere and real nice people. The cabin was very comfortable and have everything you need. Did I say DOG friendly? Yes! Excellent place to go to to getaway from the city and relax. Great place to go snow shoeing and other winter activities.

Family Getaway

Our family of 4 stayed in the Riverside cabin over New Years Eve. We were looking for a getaway and we found it! The cabin was small, but clean and comfortable. There are no electronics in the cabin, which we enjoyed. The family resorted to cards and Monopoly, and a great time was had by all.... It was just what we were looking for, a cabin in the mountains!

Absolute relaxation

My husband and I had a fantastic stay over New Years Eve! The owners are lovely folks who will bend over backwards to accommodate. The cabins are clean, the linens are nice and the electric blankets are a delight! Our favorites were the yurt saloon and snowshoeing on property. Yes, it's a drive from Steamboat, but completely worth it! It's quiet and tranquil away from the town.

Nice getaway from the big city

This was our first time to rent a cabin, we normally take our 5th wheel out. This was a nice change. We were welcomed and made to feel at home. The entire staff were great and friendly. We look forward to our next visit.

Definitely worth it!

My boyfriend and I stayed a couple nights here recently and we really loved it. It was about a four hour drive from where we live but it was worth it. The drive to get there alone is so beautiful. The room is fully equipped and so peaceful. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. It's just a relaxing, amazing place to get away from the world!

We stayed in one of the Ranch's teepees for a night after hanging out in Steamboat for the day. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and we were surprised at how well stocked the bar was! The Ranch has a homey and cozy feel and the surrounding area is just beautiful. Loved all the white lights on the cabins/saloon. After seeing the inside of one of the cabins, we agreed we'd love to stay there sometime, too. If you stay in the teepee, don't forget a sleeping pad and warm clothes!

Awesome Getaway!

We spent a couple days in heaven this past weekend! The Elk River Guest Ranch was just what we needed to unwind and recharge for the hectic life we live. Josh, Susan, and Michelle go the extra yard to make you feel right at home on the ranch. We stayed in the Aspen cabin with our dog and it was very comfy. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and amenities for such a rustic cabin. When we had a minor problem with the stove, it was fixed pronto! They even opened up the saloon for us to watch the Broncos beat the Cowboys in an exciting finish! The area is so beautiful with the fall colors and the nearby stream and the ranch is in the perfect location to enjoy it all! Leave your hectic life behind and check this place out...you'll be pleasantly surprised!
